  1. you can replace FakeSMC + ACPIBatteryManager with VirtualSMC+SMCBatteryManager the glitch is gone, but you end up with a 2-3 second black screen before login

  4. KP like root device error? Have you tried different USB ports? Are the USB Intel or NEC or other brand?

  9. YOu mean cloning the drive? Boot with the E6420 drive on your 5480. Launch disk utility Select the SSD of the 5480, click on Restore Select E6420 as the source Click restore Once done, install Clover to the SSD and then add the Clover folder / bootpack
  10. Looks like you might have a bad installer. You can just clone your E6420 to the SSD and use the EFI for the 5480 Or rebuild your installer with a different USB

For bootpack, copy Config.plist/ ACPI/ and Kexts folder from the link (debug files) and place it in /EFI/Clover You should now have a bootable Installer for this system
  12. Is the internal drive NVMe? What model is it? Might need additional patch if Yes

  21. Make sure you have AHCI enabled in BIOS and have HFSPlus.efi in /EFI/Clover/drivers64UEFI
  22. What type does it have? Synaptics, Elantouch or I2C
  23. You should select "Install OSX from SSD" to continue the update until that new icon is gone. That's new since HS for installs and updates.
