Can you post the panic? You can't use the brightness patch for HS, it stopped working since 10.12.4. SSDT-ALC256.aml is needed to fix headphone.

You need to write it to the EFI partition. The EFI-Backup on the root of the USB is a backup of the EFI partition when you install Clover.

That's the only kext in development I believe for v8, however no update had been made ever since. You'll just have to wait for update by Dr. Hurt or anyone with skills to fix the issue.

NVME is natively supported in HS. What NVMe brand does it have? Have you tried clicking on the drop down arrow in Disk Utility?
