peekstar Posted November 18, 2013 Author Share Posted November 18, 2013 Hi Jake, No I haven't yet, I'm still in the process of getting Mavericks fully functional on my 6330 so will try this soon. I think on Mountain Lion the volume slider on the menu bar didn't synchronise with other volume settings(ie keyboard buttons) so I switched to VoodooHDA. Will report back here once I've tried it. The volume slider syncs up and speakers, headphones and internal mic all work. The external mic from the combo port doesn't work though, and HDMI audio is also not working. Interestingly though, when looking in system profiler, the hdmi audio and external mic are listed, they just don't work when plugging something in. Would you know why external mic and HDMI audio don't work? Different verbs, pathmaps or DSDT edit needed? Do all audio ports work for you? HDMI audio does work, perhaps you need a modded AppleIntelFramebufferCapri. Check tutorial here, but leave out the VGA section, it has not been working for the Dell Ex30 models. As you suggested, I didn't bother with VGA, just hex edited to enable HDMI audio. Now it works! It doesn't automatically switch over to it when I plug the HDMI cable in but that is no biggie. I've tried every combination (forum.osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2945-guide-for-enabling-vga-and-hdmi-in-intel-hd4000-gpu/) for enabling VGA. I used a three connector setup and tried all the 0602 combinations (alter kext, rebuild, reboot, detect) until my fingers bled, but alas to no avail. Ended up ordering a mini-HDMI to VGA. Still this one itches, so I will look into it during the holidays. The Atheros 9280 arrived the other day. Work out of the box. I have excellent throughput, so I have the right antenna order. The old one/two ended up on the one/two on the Atheros. Third one was put aside with a piece of tape. I also have the WWAN DW5560. Ended up with three USB modems detected, but no WWAN. The DW5520 howto was not helping me out either. Anyone any pointers on that one? Administrators Hervé Posted December 8, 2013 Administrators Share Posted December 8, 2013 Indeed, not all WWAN modules appear as such in OS X; however, this does not prevent them from running well as USB modems… I have one of those in my D630 and although I never managed to get it registered as a WWAN module (which would give me the nice little GSM signal strength icon on the menu bar), I can still get it on the menu bar as a 3G dial-up modem and it'll work fine. I think Jake posted somewhere that it is impossible on E6X30 laptops. I have fixed AppleHDA though. I have this working nicely on Mavericks. After trying Jakes HDA for E6430 I found a slightly different one on InsanelyMac(which enabled ambient noise reduction on internal mic). I then enabled LineIn on this which fixed the combo port. But, the Mic/LineIn has really low sensitivity. So, once I have played around some more with that I will post the kext if anyone is interested.
