  1. some times. but if it's a d420/d430 hdd idk. those are similar to ipod classic hdd but they wont work with apples ipod firmware. man those drives suck lol. and an ssd version is super costly.
  2. hmm it is weird try swapping the hdd with one of the other models you have. maybe there is something buggy with the HDD?
  3. hmm... does it have intel wifi? it tends to do weird things. try bypassing the cache with -f -v also what version number of osx are you installing
  4. are you running edp and installing it on the hdd? it wont work on usb. it needs to build and update the kernel caches on the running os.
  5. yeah probably. run my hack from the installed os once it boots off the usb chameleon and re install chameleon
  6. well are you on latest dell bios for the laptop?
  7. if it has intel wifi shut it off in bios same for the bluetooth. you can turn on bluetooth if you have the option after os is installed. your using a bootpack right with myhack installer? if not folow the edp link in the menue bar.
  8. you have to turn off BT keyboard and mouse detection at startup in the blue tooth prefpane.
  9. you might need a chameleon higher then 2152 for graphics enabler to detect HD4000.
  10. check the org.chameleon.Boot.plist to see if you have any type of usb fixes going on. maybe you need to play around with those options. if it's on turn it off or vise versa. you might need an older usb kext added to your E/E also.
  11. then you have to see what kext it is using that is working. and see if it is loading on your hack. then start troubleshooting from there. to see if it is a hardware or software conflict.
  12. well have you tried myhack and have it generate a generic extra for you i would boot in verbose mode -v at the chameleon prompt to further diagnose your error.
  13. yes that is normal i believe you can fix it in the keyboard prefpane.
  14. preheat oven to 200*c/ 375*f range. strip mobo of all plastic stickers use some no clean liquid flux for reflow work they sell it on ebay. on affected area like gpu. turn an aluminum disposable pan upside down and place mobo in oven leave for 10 minutes in already preheated oven then shut off and crack door to allow cooling after the ten minutes of baking are up. brought back a d620 nvidia so far works for over a year
  15. does it even work on a real mac? have you tested it running the same os and version?
  16. boot0 error is a bootloader issue re install chameleon.
  17. google for voodoohda 8.2.1 and try. you might need to edit the info.plist to suit your needs.

    no sound on d520

run a myfix from the myhack app maybe your kexts are not loading properly
  19. i have a dell studio 15 with a 4500 mhd it works surprisingly well in ml. it does not have core graphics capabilities but is definitely usable if you avoid anything that depends on core graphics..... and as to it showing as a gma x3100 thats chameleons graphics enabler... for some reason they have the hardware id as a x3100. i do not use any graphics enabler or modified kext for it. i just set the resolution in the org.chameleon.Boot.plist. screen sleep will not work.
  20. repair your disk permissions with disk utility sometimes moving the nub on the middle of the keyboard helps.
  21. yes if your going to do an LCD swap you are better off with a complete lid replacement since you also need the high res LCD ribbon/cable as it has more wires for the high res model. just swapping the LCD display is not sufficient.
  22. when it asks for an extra point it at the bootpack.
  23. good point. makes sense. i remember they used to strip out the languages on 10.5 and 10.6 to fit them on a standard DVD instead of using a Dual layer DVD disc.
  24. remove the voodoops2 kext from the installer Extra/Extentions folder since you have a usb keyboard and mouse then run a myfix.
