  1. well EDP 1.8 is based off of 10.6.7 kext's so you will have issues if your at anything below that you can try an earlier version of EDP or use combo update to go to 10.6.7 then use the edp 1.8. as far as the wifi goes make sure it's activated in bios and check your wifi switch and it's settings
  2. have you tried putting /extra on both usb and hdd? also what version chameleon are you using? also if you have a real mac running lion you could just clone the drive... thats how i installed dp4
  3. energysaver in system preferences in osx... or are you still stuck on installer? i probably miss understood... lol
  4. do you use Ethernet BCM5751 ?... if not just disable it in bios. oh and the sleep issue if i remember correctly is due to the Bluetooth... try removing that too but it might have to be physical removal not just a bios shutdown. if that fixes the problem of sleep then i'm thinking theirs an irq allocation problem in DSDT maybe look deeper into the flags
  5. is it just dark or complete black/blank? if it's just dark then in energy saver uncheck dim display also i think pause button brings up the screen brightness as does Fn up make sure that ambient light sensor is disabled in bios and screen brightness on battery power is set to full, it will still be dark but when you sleep the computer and wake it it will be bright. also try doing a repair of permissions/drive with diskutility. if that doesn't work try rebuilding catches
  6. but this part was interesting sounds like it would help if these commands are in osx? i can't test it as i don't have a d630 Rebooting flags, to control how the system reboots reboot= b[ios] | t[riple] | k[bd] [, w[arm] | c[old] bios = Use the CPU reboot vector for warm reset warm = Don't set the cold reboot flag cold = Set the cold reboot flag triple = Force a triple fault (init) kbd = Use the keyboard controller. cold reset (default) Using warm reset will be much faster especially on big memory systems because the BIOS will not go through the memory check. Disadvantage is that not all hardware will be completely reinitialized on reboot so there may be boot problems on some systems.
  7. if you had modified wifi kexts then you need to edit or put them back
  8. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=99891 if you feel like experimenting there is a list of kernel extensions
  9. extract contents and put in /extra... overwrite existing bootplist smbios mkext dsdt the app regulates pstates dp4d620gma.zip
  10. try running the combo update over it
  11. what graphics does it have and are you using a dsdt?
  12. no progress as of yet, but one user was able to get it to work https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/355-d620-docking-station-vga-out/page__p__2648#entry2648
  13. 10.6.8 has been released... there are some incompatibilities remove: sleepenabler.kext /nullcpumanegement and pcmcia from e/e and rebuild your mkext before updating
  14. check your bios settings.
  15. get 4 gigs of ram if you can and core 2 duo... lion is going to be 64 bit so max out the ram.
  16. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=164809 ?
  17. lol... there's a program called just that DSDT editor
  18. what version chameleon pkg are you using, also why is it looking for mbr. did you format it with guid with osx extended journaled?
  19. what methods did you use to get snow working? edp 1.8 does not have Silent Natit x86_64 v1.0.2, delete extra folder and reinstall edp1.8.pkg build again with option 4. if not you have something in s/l/e or an injector or modified kernel if you used another distro to install osx. this works strait vanilla. you can literally make a hdd image from a real mac, install edp and build with your latitude model, install chameleon to it and boot osx.
  20. make sure you ran the correct d620 model build intel gma graphics is option4 in edp 1.8. Intel GMA 950: Chipset Model: GMA 950 Type: GPU Bus: Built-In Slot: Built in VRAM (Total): 64 MB of Shared System Memory Vendor: Intel (0x8086) Device ID: 0x27a2 Revision ID: 0x0003 Displays: Display: Resolution: 1280 x 800 Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888) Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Built-In: Yes Display Connector: Status: No Display Connected
  21. boot into bios and check first part of bios drop down menu, it lists all your hardware. then build edp according to your graphics (intel or nvidia)
  22. you should not have issues with edp 1.8 built for d620-intel using edptool.command QE should work with 10.6.7... edp should put proper dsdt in extra. make sure you are installing to the hdd both edp and chameleon
