Administrators Bronxteck Posted December 12, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 12, 2015 yeah i think you can swap alt in the keyboard preferences under modifier keys. the flickering can be the framebuffer kext might need patching or updating. for slowness maybe you can try generating a ssdt for your cpu with this https://github.com/Piker-Alpha/ssdtPRGen.sh. the OP efi zip can be cleaned up a bit and probably updating. have you tried looking at other EX440 family models on this site? maybe some have overcome some of your issues. take a look at jakelo's signature he has a few models posted there. Shazam1203
I know this is a bit of an old topic, but I had no success with el capitan. I am about to try yosemite now. Does this guide work with the E5440 i7 model? Thanks!
Moderators Jake Lo Posted March 19, 2016 Moderators Share Posted March 19, 2016 Yes, just need to generate you own SSDT for your CPU.
Shazam214
Thanks, I think I have everything working now. Is there any way to get bluetooth working with intel 7260? I am using a usb ac wireless adapter for the wifi side
Moderators Jake Lo Posted April 6, 2016 Moderators Share Posted April 6, 2016 It's not reliable. Sometimes it'll detect but won't work and other times it won't even load.
Administrators Hervé Posted April 8, 2016 Administrators Share Posted April 8, 2016 Try and remove the AppleHPET kext; it may fix your BT (and USB) issue. It certainly does on my E6440 and gets the BT of my Intel Advanced N6235 fully working...
dlonewolf86
Reviving topic. I have an e5540 i5. I can't seem to get the QE/CI working worth a darn, or if it is, it's not showing the translucent menu and dock. No glitching on the second stage of loading. Battery and audio are intermittent on boots. I'm getting very frusterated. It worked perfectly on 10.10.1, now after I updated to 10.10.5, no gfx accel. If I can't get this working, can I just disable the intel gfx, and go with the geforce?
Moderators Jake Lo Posted October 11, 2016 Moderators Share Posted October 11, 2016 You probably had a patched FB previously. You just need to add the same patches to Config.plist to enable QE/CI. The Nvidia will need to be disable with DSDT patch. Upload your Clover folder if you want to have it verified.
dlonewolf86
If I upload my config, SSDT, and DSDT, would you care to look at them, and tell me what I need to patch?
