Administrators Hervé Posted April 19, 2015 Administrators Share Posted April 19, 2015 If Intel wireless, you must either disable it in BIOS or physically remove the card. It's not supported and is known to cause issue. You will have to replace it. You could have started with this step: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2350-bios-settings-d420-core-duo/ DW1390/DW1490 are good 802.11g (54Mbps) choices; they work OOB and cost pennies these days. Atheros AR5B91 is an excellent alternative in the 802.11n (150-300/400Mbps) range. For a wider choice, look at our non-exhaustive supported/unsupported wireless card list in the R&D->Hardware->Wireless forum subsection.

Trunyce
FYI I've faced the same error when I tried to install Snow Leopard on my D420. I noticed that all went fine after i reboot, but I still can't get sleep to work properly.

Administrators Hervé Posted August 7, 2015 Administrators Share Posted August 7, 2015 You'd also need to remove any sleepimage file in /var/vm.
Trunyce
Wow, it's been a while since i've been active on here. I've acquired another d420 and want to know if it's possible to use an msata on that machine. I've already got the adapter from the zip connector.
