Like I said, if you plug in an external monitor on clean start / restart without a sleep cycle, the internal screen goes blank but the external display will be shown as extended. To fix, close the cover. The external monitor switched to be primary. Now you open the cover, the internal screen comes back on as primary and the external becomes extended monitor. If it had gone through a sleep cycle already then you won't have this issue. External monitor will just connect as external and internal stays on. I don't think I could be any more clearer. I'm using an E7470 now and had just tested HDMI to HDMI, HDMI to miniDP, DP to miniDP, all works fine.
-
Hmm, I don't have DVI to HDMI connection tested so can't confirm your issue. HDMI to HDMI HDMI to miniDP DP to HDMI DP to miniDP all works fine with the workaround.

What connection are you using? HDMI to HDMI HDMI to miniDP DP to HDMI DP to miniDP What's the monitor resolution? Have you tried putting the system to sleep and then wake it before connecting any external monitor?

try this, replace into /EFI/Clover 5580_I2C.zip -
ok. Give this config a try config.plist.zip
-
Yes, I mean the laptop cover. So when you connect the HDMI monitor, the external monitor comes on but the internal display goes blank. When you close the cover, what happens? Does the external monitor goes dark too?

[SOLVED] Dell Latitude 5580 - Mojave 10.14.5 (Touchpad issues)

What happened to the patched SSDT-xxx.aml? They are missing from the patch folder, but are shown in your original Clover on your 1st post Add them and try again. -
Did you follow the instruction in the link provided? Here, I'll post the full instruction if you can't find it. Known Issue & Workaround: HDMI-Output works but if connect HDMI-Cable the local Display goes off and never recovers. I had tried different configurations but none panned out. Here's a workaround: Close the LID until you see the HDMI display becomes the primary display, then open the LID. It'll switch LCD as primary and HDMI as secondary. NOTE: Workaround is only needed on clean boot, no issue if system has gone through a sleep/wake cycle
-
1) I had covered this a while back here. Look under known issue and workaround. NOTE: Workaround is only needed on clean boot, no issue if system has gone through a sleep/wake cycle 2) If you have Intel wifi, it's not supported. My recommendation is replace it with DW1560 3) No, not support.

If you shine a flashlight to the screen do you see anything? Can you switch the brightness slider up? Did the system with black screen or it didn't wake at all? Does power light blink when it's asleep? Does external monitor work on wake? Have you tried disabling hibernation? sudo pmset hibernatemode 0 sudo rm -f /var/vm/sleepimage sudo pmset hibernatefile /dev/null- 22 replies

Disable "Boot graphics glitch", not needed with Whatevergreen.kext, besides it's for 10.10.x->10.11.x Disable OSID to XSID and _OSI to XOSI renaming and remove SSDT-XOSI.aml-> is set to Windows2012. I2C touchpad was recommended to use Windows 2015 which is what you have patched in your DSDT. Not sure why you have patched or modified AppleHDA.kext in /S/L/E, you're using AppleALC.kext for audio. Should restore a vanilla version of AppleHDA.kext to /S/L/E Repair permissions and rebuild cache Reboot Test sleep/Wake- 22 replies

Graphics is still not loading. Try updating these kexts in /EFI/Clover/kexts/Other: Lilu.kext, Whatevergreen.kext, AppleALC.kext. Maybe AirportBrcmFixup.kext, VirtualSMC.kext, SMCBatteryManager.kext while you're at it. add the boot arg provided to get to the installation. Installation will require a few reboots until you get to the desktop. Once you can get to the desktop, run the following and reboot normally without the added boot arg sudo kextcache -i / Don't forget to install Clover and copy the EFI bootpack before rebooting
-
You need to add HFSPlus.efi or remove the disable option of VboxHfs.efi in the Config As for the hang, try booting with arg until installation is complete -igfxvesa
