I'm very aware of Mirone's AppleHDA Autopatcher which was what I have on my bootpack (AppleHDA_ALC280.kext). It's the same patch as the layout-id 4 of AppleALC.kext, no audio from the back jacks.

try replacing with contents, Config and ACPI folder using some of Rehabman's hot patches G3_Battery.zip

I tried an HDMI to DP connector and system won't even boot. I probably need an active adapter rather than a passive but I don't have one of those.

Those 3 kexts really should go into /L/E

Look here under Pre-requisites. but if you don't want to as I mentioned above, just add 2 kexts.

@shania Your desktop might be the same model but differs in that yours is Skylake (HD530) and the OP is Kabylake (HD630). Open a new thread and we'll assist you there. You can use the same bootpack from the 1st post and follow pre-requisite from here.

Add "Change HECI to IMEI" to Config file under ACPI

You could try AppleIntelE1000e.kext, see if it works better. or you could try installing to /L/E instead

Before connecting any HDMI or miniDP Launch IOReg. Search for IGPU@2 on the left Drill down to AppleIntelFramebuffer@1 Drill down to AppleIntelFramebuffer@2 If it shows then that's the reason it's not displaying your external monitor Check while using your original Config vs one I updated in the guide. While having IOReg open, plug in miniDP. Look at AppleIntelFramebuffer@2 You should see a new display0 I noticed on mine, while using MBP12,1 if I connect my HDMI, AppleIntelFramebuffer@1 change from to but continues working just fine. Strange! If I use MBA7,2, both AppleIntelFramebuffer@ 1 and 2, connecter-type are set to (HDMI) Note that I'm on BIOS A19 Post your findings

Probably just need to patch the port for HDMI output. How about the DisplayPort, does it get audio through the monitor? Post IOReg with the HDMI connected

LOL, you just beat me to it. I was going to suggest letting Clover automatically inject since it's natively supported now. IntelGraphicsDVMTFixup.kext is not needed if you have set the DVMT pre-alloc in the BIOS using EFI shell. Giving that you're able to boot previously without it, it's safe to say you could leave it out. As for audio, make sure to enable the following under ACPI Fixes FixHPET FixHDA FixMutex FixDarwin AddDTGP Under Patches, not sure it's needed, but I also have change GFX0 -> IGPU Under Devices, use audio inject 3, 13 or 17, my 7040 works with 13 Under Arbitrary, create the following PciAddr* = 00:1b:00 Comment = HDA Audio Key* = hda-gfx Value* = onboard-1 FYI, instead of dropping BGRT tableID, use FixHeaders instead

I had mentioned it on another 9020 thread that sleep doesn't work properly on HS. Last working OS is Sierra. Does your monitor have audio output capability? If yes, check preference, see if you have an option to switch from build-in to displayPort Follow instructions from here to further debug issue

@viking1304 Connect the miniDP and then Follow instructions from here to get all debug files to compare gen_debug -sysprofile Works perfectly for me too but mine don't have the Nvidia 840m card.

Why do you have AppleIntelSKLGraphicsFramebuffer.kext in /E/C/k/Other? Is it patched and if so what patch has been done on it? Could be an EDID issue...try this
