  1. Hi All. I have a problem with my hackintosh. Everything was running smoothly but I just noticed that my battery charge status was differently with HWMonitor(real charge shows) and battery status on menu bar. See attached picture. Second one is my boot was slow even on SSD- Samsung 840 Evo. It took 32 seconds(trim enabled) and 28 seconds(trim disabled) to boot my hackintosh. I have reporting files attached. Any help will be greatly appreciated. My specs: Dell inspiron 5558 A14 Bios i5 5200u(broadwell) Nvidia 920m(disabled via dsdt) 12GB RAM 120GB Samsung 840 Evo SSD(main drive) 500gb Seagate & Toshiba HDD(im changing secondary drive-CD Caddy as im migrating files) Kext used and patches can be seen on my reporting file. Thank you EDIT - additional info: Im dualbooting High Sierra & Windows Windows 10 boots in 7 seconds I am using APFS Clover UEFI Noticed also that HWMonitor shows that my ssdlife is 99% while on windows(hd sentinel and ssdlife pro shows 100%) Troubleshooting done: •disabled nvidia via bios •fixed usb power and usb limit via ssdt for usbinjectall •tried booting with all kext removed. Left Fakesmc, usbinjectall, realtek only for booting •tried reseating all hw(memory, hdd, cmos battery, wifi card, HDD caddy) But issue still persist - slow boot and battery not shown properly reporting-6.zip
  2. Hi! Could anyone help me installing High Sierra on this system? I succesfully installed Sierra before on this system with help of Jake Lo (thanks!!), I just wondering if could High sierra possible to installed on this system? Boot stopped at this. I'll attach my Clover folder and a picture from boot. UEFI enabled, and for skylake I used IntelGraphicsDVMTfixup and IntelGraphicsFixup kexts. My bios is very limited and does not have any option to change dvmt prealloc or anything else. Everything works fine on Sierra. Here is my system: Acer Aspire V15 V5-591G-55TU (Note: Bootpack works fine with another versions of 591G, for example: V5-591G-71K2, -764Z, -59PU, etc.) Mobo: Skylake USOPP_SLS Bios: Insyde corp latest version CPU: Intel Core i5-6300HQ 2.30 GHz (Skylake) GPU: Geforce GTX 950M 2 GB (optimus, disabled), Intel HD 530 Ram: 8 GB DDR4 (4+4 GB) Wifi: Qualcomm Atheros QCNFA344A, Replaced to BCM94352Z Ethernet: Realtek 8168B/8111B Audio: ALC 255 (layout-3 fix) Card Reader: Realtek HDD: 1 TB Dual-boot with Windows 10 Any help appreciated! Sleep Mode: In High Sierra sleep mode not worked for me natively. Inject custom EDID to fix the blank screen after wake from sleep See here for instruction (thanks black.dragon74 and Jake Lo !!) (Please update to 10.13.4, this update will fix this and no need for use this custom EDID anymore) Please add these 2 patches to ACPI\DSDT\Patches in your config.plist in order to avoid not responding applications after sleep: (added in "v5_591g_55tu_updated_CLOVER.zip") HECI to IMEI 48454349 494d4549 EC0 to EC 4543305f 45435f5f Before updating to a new version of High Sierra please update kexts to new versions to avoid kernel panics Note: No need for "IntelGraphicsDVMTFixup.kext" so you should delete it. Not working: Original Wi-Fi: Qualcomm Atheros QCNFA344A unsupported, you need switch to BCM94352Z or just use a mini usb wifi dongle. NVIDIA GTX 950M: Optimus not supported. Card Reader: Unsupported Buggy: HDMI, VGA only working if you start the system when they plugged in, you can fix this by replacing the "AppleIntelSKLGraphicsFramebuffer.kext" in S/L/E/ with the same kext from Sierra 10.12.6 (attached), but after sleep Hardware acceleration breaks and apps freezing (for me). If you experiencing freezing, write to terminal: defaults write com.apple.coremedia hardwareVideoDecoder disable For Wi-Fi: You can choose an external USB wifi dongle (I used tp-link Archer T1U (5GHz support), Tp-link have official macOS drivers, you just need to install it (OR)Replace your M.2 Qualcomm Card with a compatible BCM94352Z card (you will have hand-off Bluetooth too), just install the kext I wrote above I'll attach my EFI folder for anyone who want to install High Sierra (acer_aspire_v5_591g_55tu_hs.zip). *REUPLOADED updated CLOVER folder, attached as "v5_591g_55tu_updated_CLOVER.zip". I'm using High Sierra in Dual-boot with Windows 8.1. To do this in a clean install or with Windows installed first try my little minimal guide: Dual-boot clean install (on one drive): 1. Boot into your Mac installer, Create 2 partitions in GUID table (1 for Win (I used FAT32 but I think it's no matter what), 1 for Mac), 2. Install Mac, boot with your USB, *mount your EFI partition (use terminal or an EFI mounter app), create an EFI folder, copy the CLOVER folder I attached to the EFI folder, restart, 3. Boot into your Win installer, Format the partition you created for Win, install. 4. Now, it's automatically booting into Windows. To use Clover open cmd in administrator, type: bcdedit /set {bootmgr} path \EFI\CLOVER\CLOVERX64.efi 5. You're done! It will booting into Clover when you start the system, and you can select Win or Mac (or another OS if installed on a 3rd partition). Dual-boot with Windows installed first (on one drive): If you already have Windows and you don't want to lose all your data there is a hope: You need bootable Mac Installer and a full system restore image (you can search for it). (You may see errors if your EFI partition is not 200 MB) 1. Boot into your Windows, resize your partition or create one for Mac. 2. Boot into your Mac installer and in Disk Utility format the partition you created. 3. Restore from image: select your full system restore image. 4. When it's finished restoring you just need to restart, then boot to the system with your usb. 5. Do Step 2. from "*" from clean install dual-boot above. but KEEP "Microsoft" FOLDER IN IT! 6. Do Step 4. from clean install dual-boot above. 7. You're done! You can select your old Windows and your new macOS! (I only tried with Windows 8/8.1/10. I don't know Windows 7,etc.) - BOOT TIME (FROM CLOVER TO DESKTOP ON TOSHIBA MQ01ACF032 320 GB 7200 RPM HDD): - Windows 10: 1m 33s - macOS High Sierra 10.13.3: 1m 07s (yes, I know it's still a lot, but I have only a HDD, not an SSD) (This just for curiosity, but I'm so suprised that macOS is booting faster and even loading apps\files faster than Windows) IF YOU GETTING ERRORS DURING MAC RESTORE: Make sure you have partitions in GPT The best version for restore method is Windows 8.1. It's using 200 MB EFI. Windows 10 using 100 MB EFI and will annoy the Mac restore. You can use with Windows 10, just ignore the errors IF YOU GETTING ERRORS DURING WINDOWS INSTALLATION (could not be formatted, etc): Make sure you have GPT partitions, and GPT installerIF YOU USED RESTORE METHOD THEN CAN'T MOUNT YOUR EFI PARTITION (No EFI partition found) It's because your EFI is not 200 MB or not an "Apple" original EFI, but do not worry, try another EFI mounter, or mount from terminal (I used EFI mounter v3: Getting errors, but you can mount and use without problem) You also could "mount" the EFI from windows, for that open cmd and type:diskpart list vol (Now select the "System" volume,(FAT 32) For example I select 4) sel vol 4 list part (Select System type partition, for example 2) sel part 2 assign letter=b (This will "mount" your EFI partition, to manage files download totalcmd or explorer++ (run as admin)) remove letter=b (This will "unmount" your EFI) Here is a video from dual-boot with Windows installed first (on one drive): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_Q8uPkwcWQ Here some pictures: acer_aspire_v5_591g_55tu_hs.zip v5_591g_55tu_updated_CLOVER.zip AppleIntelSKLGraphicsFramebufferkext-10-12-6.zip

    Dell Vostro 3446 high Sierra

Hello All, Greetings to everyone !!! I have Dell Vostro 3446 with A14 BIOS version and 8GB aftermarket RAM(Kingston 8GB PC3L 1600MHz Laptop RAM (KVR16LS118) to be precise) and is my daily driver and only laptop. Here is the link to the exact model, https://www.dell.com/support/home/in/en/inbsd1/product-support/servicetag/9ppp812/configuration I am hoping to be able to run MacOSX for learning development. Although I am more than aware the risk and issues to carry this out but I am completely new to the world of hackintoshes and was not able to find any other threads on any of the hackintosh forums for my laptop. I have already read what another post here in this forum to be able to make this laptop hackintosh but it seems very confusing and jargon to me. Also, I did not see anything related to NVIDIA GPU here too. If that is working on this laptop? Could this be upgraded to Mojave(I know I am asking a lot already)? I would be very happy to follow it all if anyone can help me understand the step by step process. Thanks in advance! Regards, Abhishek

  5. Hi Folks!! I just Install Os X 10.13.3 on my Dell XPS L502X, after some research I almost done with this project, but I'm facing some post installation problems... My system don't wake up from Computer Sleep state - black screen, no power from USB to mouse connection. When its came out from Display Sleep state only - some display glitches start in some application as Safari and Clover configurator Tools, IORegistryExplorer.. not in finder or any Apple Apps. Photos, iTunes... My System Profile does not see my USB 3.0 Device Tree - the IORegistryExplorer show mu usb 3.0 ports after net.osx86.kexts.GenericUSBXHCI install at RP04 in AppleACPIPCI tree, this laptop has 3 USB ports one 2.0 in the right (USB + eSATA) and 2 USB 3.0 one in the back and one in the left side; the system mount the devices connected only if you insert any USB device in the back physical port, it's is like a trigger once you put a USB device in the back for it come alive normally, I mean the left USB do not work if you don't insert any USB Device at the back port first... I'm not sure if it's connection is USB 3.0 speeds or not, it's don't show any differences between a USB 3.0 Device like a Segate USB 3.0 external HDD and a USB 2.0 Mouse. The Blue Ray disk drive works for a while, at some point it disconnected it's self, I have no idea why, the IORegistryExplorer shows it connection ok but after some time it shows as a red lined device. I insert a movie and works fine; I really don't tested in deep... The Close Lid does not work, Not Change any display status. I don't do the card reader Kext install yet.. so I still don't know if it's work or not I need help with iMessages / FaceTime... does not work. iTunes Store, Apple Store, iCloud works fine. Audio Works Fine Brightness works fine keep settings after restart. Battery Works fine. Here I put my Debug files I know that it's a lot of work to do, but I appreciate any advise/help/support form any one with more experience than a newbie like me... CLOVER.zip debug_2598 2.zip
  6. Hi, I have a Dell XPS 13" 9333 with HD 4400 graphics. Using Clover with High Sierra 10.13.6, I have a lot of stuff working, and some stuff not: Working: Wifi (BCM94352Z) Bluetooth Trackpad Not Working: Graphics (glitchy, only showing 7MB) Sound Touch Screen (Synaptics) I am a bit stuck, at least with Graphics and sound, if someone could assist please, I would really appreciate it. 7. Hi guys. I'm trying to install High Sierra on E5470 but I'm getting trouble See the screenshot: These are my CLOVER folder and ACPI with original DSDTs ACPI.zip EFI.zip
  8. Hey thanks for the guide! Unfortunately it didn't fix my issue, I tried the method mentioned in the above thread and I suspect that with my HDMI display plugged in (because that's the only way I can use my hackintosh) it was generating the external display's edid. So I installed windows on my computer using the Nvidia control panel and selected my internal monitor's edid. I tried injecting that edid(internal display) using clover but still only the external display is working with graphics acceleration. P.S. I also tried booting by disabling the Nvidia from clover and followed the guide above but Darwin Dumper then wouldn't give me those three files a.k.a my EDID folder debug_28456.zipwas empty. Please it will really appreciated if you could help me through this issue. I'm adding my problem reporting files.
  9. Hi @Jake Lo! I'm trying to (fresh) install the High Sierra on my "old" Dell 3480. I've tried to use the settings that you gave me for 5480 and obviously it doesn't work. I've found here a working solution for 3450 and tried it too. The result was better, but I got myself stuck on this screen: The specs are: Dell 3480 BIOS 1.8.0 Intel Core i7-7500U 16 GB Video - Intel HD Graphics (not sure if its 620 or 520) Audio Realtek ALC3246 Wifi Qualcomm Wireless (probably DW1820) Find attached the origin folder with the ACPI dump. origin.zip And the EFI folder EFI.zip Can you help me? Cheers, Rafael Siqueira

  12. A first-time Hackintosher needing some assistance. Could anyone assist with the necessary kexts and config.plist required to get to boot? Two weeks in and I'll take anything I can get right now even if it's for Sierra, HFS or APFS. LAPTOP specs: Dell Latitude E6520 - i7-2620M - 8GB RAM - HD3000 - NVS 4200 - Crucial 525GB SSD - WD 250GB HDD Finally got a bootable High Sierra image from Hackintosh Zone and able to boot into clover, though get stuck during boot using either legacy or UEFI. Using Legacy I get the 'Still waiting for root device error' - Applied the USBBusFix flag, aptiofix to no avail with UEFI I get the prohibited sign (Verbose mode does reveal some other error) FakeSMC is added. I've tried the Sandy-Bridge config.plist as well as generic ones for legacy & UEFI to no avail I've attached my current EFI folder, EFI_CLOVER.zip

    Dell Optiplex 990 SFF I7 1050TI

Sucessful Hack of a optiplex 990 10.13.4 with a 1050TI card runs great just gonna have to doctor up the case to fit the card.
  16. I have an E6520 laptop and I've upgraded some parts to it... I've upgraded the CPU from a core i5 to a Core i7 2670QM as well as upgraded the screen to a 1080P screen (I don't have Nvidia graphics, just straight HD3000) The issue I am having is that, when I'm running off straight battery power, I will hear the fans rev up and then the laptop will just shut off. It doesn't behave this way under windows or linux. I'm running the latest BIOS (I believe it's A20 or A19) on this laptop. I've attached my clover folder to see if I might have something off or not. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. CLOVER.zip
  17. Attached is my Clover Bootloader Folder and the KEXT drivers I used to install and run macOS High Sierra on my Dell M6800 with NVIDIA Quadro K3100M 4GB GFX Card. I have 12GB of DDR3 1600MHz Ram installed in 3 separate Banks/DIMM slots. I am currently running a vanilla macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 with the 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7 (Haswell E). I have my High Sierra installed on my SK hynix SH920 SSD with the Apple File System (APFS) though it is not suggested for Hackintosh, it works fine on this machine. The High Sierra installation indicates that the SATA drivers running on it uses the Intel 8 Series Chipset with no TRIM support. My M6800 does NOT have a Webcam so IDK the answers to if yours will work or not. I do use a USB Logitech HD Webcam C615 1080p camera I have had for years and it works just fine. If you do not know already, you will need to have access to a separate Mac or have some version of macOS installed in order to create your USB. I am not the person to ask for help with that unfortunately. I will help if you ask kindly. Installation: Simply DELETE your EFI folder on your USB and PASTE mine where yours was [IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A DELL M6800 or similar DO NOT DO IT TO YOURSELF]. After a successful boot and installation of macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 you can also use Clover Configurator to Mount your hidden EFI partition and DELETE and PASTE these files to that as well. I also suggest using KEXT WIZARD or KEXT UTILITY to install each and every kext in the ZIP attached. What's Working: Sleep/Wake WHILE THE POWER CORD IS PLUGGED IN (Not from closing the screen down, but from clicking the Apple logo and sleep or by timer). Wi-Fi (AirPort Extreme) via Broadcom BCM43xx. 2 USB ports on the LEFT side as USB 2.0 and the 1 USB/eSATA on the back. KeyBoard. TouchPad (only when USB mouse is not plugged in at boot and it is SLOW unadjustable, it's terrible use a USB mouse). iMessage, iCloud, FaceTime, AppStore work perfectly. NVIDIA Graphics work perfectly thanks to the Lilu and NvidiaGraphicsFixUp kext. THIS FIXES THE BLACK OR BLANK SCREEN PROBLEM. DVD-Drive/Burning if you even care to use CD, DVD disk. What does NOT work (at least for me): Bluetooth (I will update ASAP) 2 USBs on right side are unresponsive. Ethernet/RJ-45 (I know I can fix it, but I don't use a wire. I will include a KEXT to fix this later) Adjusting Brightness (Download an app from the AppStore called Brightness Slider -OR- use Night Shift [will not adjust brightness, but will be bearable]). Native Sound (I am working on finding a solution without using VooDoo). No Card Readers work (Personally IDC for them. I like digital, but I love USB, so I will work on that.) Any questions about any of the above feel free to ask!! Dell m6800 HS 10.13.4.zip
  18. Hello friends, Many of you have noticed that after upgrade to high sierra whenever you machine sleeps, be it a display sleep or a system sleep, the screen turns out fully white with garbled lines, or it might turn black with just the cursor moving. If you try and press few keys you will find out that the machine works but the display doesn't. If you want to know a little background info, read on, else skip to fix. On my ASUS R541UJ this bugged me a lot. I tried hell lot of things like, re patching DSDT, trying with all 15 ig-platform-id (for Kabylake), still, the issue persisted. I also have an ASUS A555LA (which I am trying to make a perfect MacBook Air). So, in my process of making my A555LA a perfect MacBook I added a ALS (ambient light sensor device) and then, changed vendor-id along with product-id of the laptop's display to that of Apple's display i.e. PID: 0x9cf2 VID: 0x610 for MacBook Air's display.. Whatever I do on my A555LA, I replicate the same on my 2 other ASUS laptops. So, I did the same on my R541UJ (the one affected by this annoying bug) And to my surprise, that issue was fixed! Then, I disabled the ALS device in my custom SSDT (I generally make a dynamic configurable SSDT that works for all my machines, See here) and that issue didn't come back. So, I finally came to the conclusion that it was due to incorrect vendor-id and product-id of my display in IODisplayEDID or EDID. Enough talking, let's see how you can fix this in a few simple steps. How to fix: In order to fix this, as you might already know from above, we need to change our display's product and vendor id to that of Apple's display. There are 3 ways for this, Injecting custom EDID using clover, Using a display override, Using a custom override kext (DispalyMergeNub). I love CLOVER so will be covering that part of the fix in this guide. Also, injecting EDID with clover is preferred as it will also work when booting recovery partition. (Not the same with Display Overrides and DisplayMergeNub) Update your CLOVER to latest version (nothing to do with this fix but is a good idea to have you boot loader up to date) Download Darwin Dumper from here Download FixEDID app from here Download my script attached to this post. Open Darwin dumper and uncheck everything except EDID. Then, select run from the left pane. It will dump your EDID and then it will open a folder where it dumped the files. In the folder you will find an EDID folder. Upon opening it you will see 3 files namely, EDID.bin, EDID.hex, EDID.txt (All three files are your EDID dump except in different formats). We need the one in BIN format for FixEDID.app Copy EDID.bin from DarwinDump*/EDID to your Desktop (Dump* is the darwinDumper output folder) Open FixEDID.app and select open EDID binary file. Choose the EDID.bin file you copied to desktop. If you look below "Open EDID binary file" button, you will see a drop down menu saying "Apple iMac Display 16:10" Select it and choose "Apple MacBook Air Display 16:9" (Note: You may try experimenting with different models, I personally use "Apple MacBook Air Display 16:9" on my A555LA and "Apple MacBook Pro Display 16:10" on my R541UJ) Make sure display class is set to "AppleBacklightDisplay" for we are overriding our internal LVDS display. (AppleDisplay is used for external displays like that on HDMI or DP) Click on Make button (Note: You won't see any sort of confirmation but the app has done it's work) Close FixEDID and come back to your desktop. You will see a host of new files there. (3 files to be precise) For this guide, you just need DisplayVendorID-xxx folder. Open it any then you will find a file named "DisplayProductID-xxxx" Copy this file to the Desktop. Now we need to extract EDID that is in base64 format and then convert it to HEX format as required by CLOVER. Worry not, I got you covered. Now is the time to run my script. Assuming my downloaded script is in Downloads folder, open terminal and type: # Change working directory cd ~/Downloads # Make script executable chmod a+x get_edid.sh # Run and get EDID to inject ./get_edid.sh ~/Desktop/DisplayProductID* ` This script wil give you EDID you need to inject using CLOVER, like: Copy that EDID and paste it in your config.plist under Graphics > EDID > Custom (You can use clover configurator as that will save you from manual PLIST editing which is not recommended for novice users) Also, set Boolean Inject to True (YES) under config.plist > Graphics > EDID. See below screenshots for reference: Any Plist Editor(Xcode): Clover Configurator: Reboot and Voilà! You won't face that dreaded issue ever again until you remove custom EDID. LOL. You can verify if the EDID is being injected by opening terminal and typing: ioreg -l | grep "IODisplayEDID" ` The output should match the output of get_edid.sh Problem Reporting: See How to generate proper problem reporting files Note: This issue mostly seems to effect machines running High Sierra on Kabylake hardware (maybe Skylake too?). I have personally tested this on Sierra (with and without skylake spoofing) turns out that Sierra is not affected by this. Note: Upon booting up with custom EDID in place you will see that your colors are not such bright and crisp. YMMV. (Coz our's isn't a Apple branded display ). To fix that, open system preferences > Display. Select "Color" tab and choose "Apple RGB Display" Hope this helped someone! Regards get_edid.zip

  20. I haven't been apart of the Hackintosh community for a while, but I want to give it a try on my laptop. Here are the specs and my situation. 21. Hi. I recently installed High Sierra on my Z170-XP SLI based system and have everything working except the GT 640 graphics are quite choppy. Things like opening notification center and launchpad lag. I have full QE/QI support or whatever. I'd assume since this is a natively supported card I don't need any web drivers. Using iMac14,2 SMBIOS. If it matters I'm using a 20in Cinema Display (the old one) on DVI and a Samsung off the HDMI output with an HDMI to DVI adapter. I've attached my EFI folder if you need it. This card was moved from my 2008 Mac Pro running El Capitan and it worked just fine on there. Thanks. EFI.zip

    [SOLVED] E5450 High Sierra Boot

I'm trying to install High Sierra on Dell Latitude E5450 Intel i5-5300 with HD Graphics 5500 (no dedicated GPU) The Bios Version A07 SATA SSD (Samsung EVO 850) that is in AHCI mode I have tried using bootpack from: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/10207-e5450-fresh-install-high-sierra-and-few-problems/ But I'm stuck at "Still waiting for root device" (the attached screen is exactly before the message). Here are the "origin" AML files (from my system) and the clover folder (removed binaries but kept all info.plist for kexts to fit in 2MB). Clover version is rev 4330 (UEFI mode). BIOS DVMT is set to 64MB (using the utility that I can't remember the name since I set it up for Sierra) I even tried cloning the USB stick (install partition) to the SSD and booting from there, but the same happens. What am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance. Note: I had Sierra successfully installed on this laptop, and I have High Sierra successfully installed on another E5470 with Skylake booting with the same Clover version. e5450-origin.zip e5450-clover.zip
  23. Hi, First let me thank everyone for all the guides, notes and contribution. Really thank you. Ok.. I have a Dell E6430 laptop. I changed the Wireless card for one compatible, and installed a 500GB SSD. I'm installing High Sierra. I followed the guide "Dell Latitude / Inspiron / Precision / XPS - Clover Guide" and all the installation process went perfect. I just go trouble to manage to start the mac OS without the Pendrive, but that's working now. Now my problem is the post installation. I followed the rest of the guide but for some reason it's not working. My issues are the following: USB Port not working. (This one is very weird, only the left usb port works. The right ones are not working) Sound is not working. Battery status not working. Webcam is not working. HDMI (not tested yet) VGA (not tested yet) So far my biggest concern is the USB and sound, . I used the E6430_A12.zip. Please find attached a copy of my EFI folder of the USB installer. The same content is in the EFI partition of the laptop. Any help will be truly appreciated. Thanks in advance CloverUSBContent.zip
  24. Just updated my Optiplex 780 SFF Core2Duo GMA4500 onboard graphics to High Sierra. Everything seems fine except when I open browser to browser web pages, the pages appears for a brief moment and then becomes blank. Clover folder is attached. If anyone can point me to what graphics settings I need to change please? Optiplex CLOVER.zip
  25. My E6230 running High Sierra always recognized External drive on USB2.0 as internal disk. But the drive on the usb3.0 port was recognized correctly as external. How to fix this? External icon patch on AppleAHCIPort applied.
