i was about tot say the same.. if it aint broken, dont fix it .. i do wonder, wouldent it be posebil to re-use the core .. i guess that gets over-written when you update.. you dont happend to have a screenshot of the KP ?

Have you tried that driver that worked in 10.5 on your installation.. also.. i think slice have a trackpad.prefpane that works for hes driver... also, have you tested with the one that comes with edp (look under fixes)

also, there is a hacked up trackpad under "fixes" in latast EDP

Fusion.. atleast on my system.. besides, vmware machines works cross-OS, eg. if you have a machine that runs on windows.. it will also run on osx
