As per Jake Lo's guide linked in post #2, follow his instructions for the Invalid Partition error. It appears you will need to install Chameleon on your hard drive. Use your MyHack installer and choose the Install Chameleon option, choosing your OSx drive as the install to volume. He indicated Chameleon-2.2svn-r2189 worked for him

Acknowledging that you are new to this, and that AMD processors are more challenging to deal with, I would suggest working with an Intel processor to be wiser. There is a lot more access to references and help. As for posting it all over this forum, it is best to keep things neat and orderly, posting things in the appropriate areas where members can know where to search and find the information they are looking for without weeding through clutter.

Does your E6400 have a dedicated card reader? If so have you tried downloading the kext provided in the Mountain Lion Anyone forum? Although not as smooth as your iMac's likely is, I have used it to to read and copy with. I had tried to have it viewed as an Apple card reader, but was honestly taking more time than I was willing to spend on it considering that I don't use it often.

I believe the 4535s has an AMD processor vs. the 4530s's i3.

E6410 with nVidia NVS 3100M graphics - Mountain Lion Guide

It isn't over yet - let's hope we can say the same when the retail version comes out. -
Hold out hope, look into ML Post Factor for usable graphics on your laptop. Hervé has applied it to his D630 with GMA X3100 graphics with success and can point you in the right direction. Links: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1325709

As Hervé indicated, the issue might be with the brand of USB drive you are using. From rooting Android devices to phones to hackintoshing, it has been noted that different brands produce different results and their own accompanying issues. From my experience doing any of the above, I have found SanDisk drives to be fast and effective with no issues for all of my purposes. Other brands have produced problems including slower speeds, file corruption and as Hervé noted, failure to format. Try with another brand (or possibly try creating the installer on a different machine as there have been occasions where the machine creating the installer has corrupted the installer).

E6400/E6500 series laptops appear to be safe. Only things noticeable so far are change in build number and in S/L/E previous ATI graphics kexts are now named AMD. Slightly slower boot after a longer than expected restart from update was remedied by running a MyFix, but I had not rebuilt kext cache after adding iLife '11 and a few apps.
-
App store update to DP2 was straightfoward and uneventful. Restart took a little while, no problems on first boot. A few permissions needed repair (as expected). Noticed ATI graphics kexts in S/L/E now AMD. Longer bootup time may be a kext cache issue, haven't run MyFix yet. Appears safe. UPDATE: As expected, a full MyFix improved boot time. I recalled I added a few apps and installed iLife without having repaired permissions or rebuiding kext cache, which may have contributed to this.

Apple has dropped Developers Preview 2 yesterday, available through software update. It is a large update of almost 1.5GB. I am downloading now to a partition to review changes. Didn't notice a mention of it, will update changes as I can.

See if removing the DSDT.aml from your /Extra allows you to boot.

Easier, cheaper and quicker for the DW1510, which is a Broadcom card used in a wide variety of Macs, and is a mini, so no rerouting of wires is necessary, comes from local and are available today on eBay (US) at $3.54 + $.99 shipping http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-Latitude-2100-Wireless-WLAN-WIFI-Card-PW934-Genuine-Laptop-Tested-/160952442252?pt=US_Internal_Network_Cards&hash=item2579835d8c . Also can be rebranded to be recognized by the system as Airport Extreme.

I can only guess that Installer application is not opening. You can try opening it by clicking on it.The Installer application is in System/Library/CoreServices/Installer.app. Your best bet is to be patient and purchase a new card and replace the original. When you googled as I described, you should have noticed that dongle doesn't seem to work from 10.7.2 and on.
-
Purchase a new WiFi card (Dell DW1510 works well), remove the bottom, carefully disconnect the two antenna leads, remove screw, slide card out. Reverse procedure to install. White wire goes to connection with white triangle, Black to solid black triangle. Very easy, just be gentle popping the leads on (too much force will bend them, making for an unstable connection). EBay US has the cards from $5 - $10 (if you search PW934, they are sometimes cheaper and are the same card, just listed differently).
-
First off, which WiFi card do you have? It must be an Apple compatible one, Intel cards (often shipped with Dells) won't work. Also make sure the WiFi switch is on and WiFi is enabled in BIOS. Next, I assume you installed by the MyHack method. If so, when you have a compatible card, if it doesn't work out of the box, download and install your kext. After that run MyHack's utility called MyFix (if you installed using MyHack, a copy of MyHack was placed in your Applications folder). Click on MyHack, enter your password, use the dropdown menu to go to MyFix (it will probably open in MyFix after entering your password), click OK, Make sure you are running MyFix on / (this is your hard drive), click OK and choose Full when it pops up. This will rebuild permissions and kext caches. When that completes you will need to reboot your computer for the kext to install. Then your WiFi should work. If not, message back... My understanding is it works OOB (if equipped with compatible card).
-
Using the machine you created the installer with, go into S/L/E on the installer, move the AppleACPIPlatform.kext to trash, run a MyFix (full) on the installer after that and see if that works.
-
The problem has been identified and efforts are being made to remedy the issue. It is in everyone's best interest to remedy this, please be patient as it is repaired and tested to make sure there are no additional issues that will need looking at.
-
Obviously, there is an issue with EDP currently. Presumably, it has been brought to the attention of the site administration and they are looking into it. Please check back periodically to see if the status has been updated.
-
Presumably, you installed using the bootpack in that section of the EDP tab? And under the EDP tab at the top of any page here, you went to the download and downloaded the framework? That should put the EDP into your / Applications. If it is not working from Applications, look in your Extra folder.

As per our discussion, Thanks for this neat, compact guide which works perfectly on the E6400/E6500 series laptops. Glad to know I'm not the only one who overprepared for a battle with these based on our ML experience. I'm still envisioning the write-up it would have been, and glad it turned out so easy. The only issue I have come across that remains unresolved (so far) is with FaceTime not allowing me to finish setup and try it. I had used AirParrot in ML and the settings played hell with the microphone input settings in FaceTime that took a couple of hours to resolve. I have not yet installed Skype to see if the current version has issues as others have reported. Hope to hear about the experiences of some familiar members now that you have posted this.

This was documented by JakeLo's post in the other thread. In desterly's case it appears to be an anomaly caused by the modified IO80211.kext placed in E/E to correct an earlier WiFi issue.

At the screen where you choose the installer, type in those boot flags (you should see them appear in the lower left corner). These are "instructions" for the installer to follow. Then hit Enter.
