  1. yes as in using external media that has enough room to copy your partition. I'm not sure about which os is better for the e5220 but check out the site and maybe you can find your answer.
  2. you can go either way depending on the model. if you want to use lion, clone your iMac to a disk. install my hack utility to it. use my hack to install your extra folder too it. install chameleon and you should be set. for mavericks you can point my hack to the installer app which should be in the applications folder and make your boot usb following the instructions.
  3. boot with the -v boot flag and post a picture of the error.
  4. use chameleon wizard app and set the native resolution of your screen. you can also try the resolution dylib in the modules menu of the app.
  5. have you tried adding nullcpu.kext? also check your bios if you have VT-D option and disable it or add dart=0 to your boot flags. incase your bios does not show an option for it.
  6. that error is pretty normal on that machine.... the issue is your graphics are not loading since ML does not natively support that GMA graphics on your machine
  7. what bios version are you at? there where improvements to usb power management and cmos rtc. latest seems to be A22
  8. yes it should be in E/E only. and as for it being default... that just means it should be working and get the job done but it might not be the best solution for you. some of the other choices have different "Feels" or options to them. like side scrolling or 2 finger scrolling. hence the choices.
  9. looks like it hangs at loading graphics sometimes. try a newer build of chameleon.
  10. try this one it's newer. make sure you don't have any older fakesmc.kext or it's plugins in E/E or in S/L/E if you used a kext app. then put this on in E/E and run a my fix quick option. reboot after that once it finishes. fakesmc 6.0.1067.zip
  11. repair your permissions with disk utility. also double check your bios entries for trackpad. you can also try different trackpad options in edp.
  12. did you try using myhack utility from the utilities menu to add your extra back
  13. yes you can delete AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext or use nullcpu kext. ivy and haswell cores do not use it unless you use sandy machine smbios identifier and ssdt plus some modded plists. and yes if you replace kexts in Extra/Extensions folder you have to run myfix so it can transfer the kexts into kernel cache
  14. if i remember correctly you have to change something in the voodoo or whatever ps2 plist files from OSBundleRequired Safe-Boot something like that to OSBundleRequired Console or you need a usb keyboard or replace the ps2 kext with the one that worked for you.
  15. get chameleon wizard app it make life simpler. and yes change that to your native resolution.
  16. maybe you need to see what driver is loading for it in mac os. and look inside the kext at it's info plist file to see it there is anything you can change.
  17. For UEFI booting the solution is clover boot loader. but there should be an option in bios for legacy boot. and also one to choose the boot medium. i don't remember what button to press on hp to get the boot option list. maybe pressing esc key during bios post might show it. also you might have the option to boot from cd before booting from external or usb set in bios.
  18. it won't let you download the EDP installer and re install EDP? there where changes to EDP's folder path so thats probably why you have an older version showing.
  19. if you have HD4000 graphics check the chameleon help file at boot. they have flags to enable the graphics. and i think there is a dual link flag as well you might need that too. you would need the original graphics kexts and use IntelCapriFB= This is for Intel HD 4xxx, value range's are 0-11 you can try IntelCapriFB=3 first if that does not work then try from 0 all the way to 11 one might fix your error.
  20. you probably need to set your bios to boot from usb. look into your bios. that board spec says socket 1155 and lists sandy cores. ivy also came in 1155 socket. if lion is not running well try a newer apple os.
  21. latest edp is at 772 reinstall EDP. https://code.google.com/p/osxlatitude-edp/source/list
  22. you can try by using the my hack generic boot pack. it might get you started. but try searching the forum I'm sure there are some similar machines here.
