rufabf
Thank you for this awesome tutorial.I have the same laptop, altough I have a couple of questions regarding compatibility. Does the external vga input work?(I mainly use my laptop with an external monitor for work). Is there any chance that there will be a solution to the original(Atheros AR9485) wifi card work? I have another question regarding the installation: Do I have to format my entire hard drive when installing osx or it's enough to have a single partition formatted? VGA not work fine but you can use HDMI to connect an external monitor like i do. For now the only solution to have wifi is change the wifi pci card. You can use all HDD or a single partition to install Mac osx. I have 3 partitions.

polyethylened
I couldn't make it boot. I think that it is related to the use of non-dsdt kexts. Is it already included on EDP? Also, i couldn't understand what's the EFS partition. Is there a generic tutorial or guide so we the noobs could follow? Thank you so much for your hard work. dimak08
My system does not want to sleep. Once asleep, wakes up immediately. In logs i find: 18.03.13 20:58:14,000 kernel[0]: Wake reason = XHC EHC2
Administrators Hervé Posted March 19, 2013 Administrators Share Posted March 19, 2013 On some Dell laptops, this can be caused by a non-compatible BIOS settings: USB Wake=enabled. Probably worth a check on your system...

If you don't use patched DSDT i think that you put this string on config.plist to enable HD4000 <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000005006201140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string> To format EFS use the EFI Tools Clover EN.app (F option)
dimak08
My hack stopped sleeping. The first time he slept fine. Suddenly he stopped sleeping, and once goes to sleep immediately wakes up. In logs: localhost:~ dimak$ syslog |grep -i "wake reason" Mar 19 14:59:01 MacBook-Pro-dimak kernel[0] <Debug>: Wake reason = XHC EHC2 Mar 20 09:11:28 MacBook-Pro-dimak kernel[0] <Debug>: Wake reason = XHC EHC2 Mar 20 09:33:29 MacBook-Pro-dimak kernel[0] <Debug>: Wake reason = XHC EHC2 Mar 20 09:57:32 MacBook-Pro-dimak kernel[0] <Debug>: Wake reason = XHC EHC2 Mar 20 10:13:19 MacBook-Pro-dimak kernel[0] <Debug>: Wake reason = XHC EHC2 Mar 20 10:49:56 localhost kernel[0] <Debug>: Wake reason = XHC EHC2 I have several times to reinstall the system (10.8.0, 10.8.2), not only for this instruction. Go to sleep does not want to. Tried all modes of USB in the BIOS. Nothing has given a positive result. DSDT I use, which I gave rufabf.
