Administrators Bronxteck Posted August 22, 2012 Administrators Share Posted August 22, 2012 yes i understood but the fact is but still different hardware, different outcome. GMA d430 and GMA d620 have this issue with brightness.
DellBoy
OK thanks. So, what you are saying is that there is no fix for this (yet) just like the no sleep issue.
Administrators Bronxteck Posted August 26, 2012 Administrators Share Posted August 26, 2012 no.... sleep works fine on gma d620/d430 you need to use a password it's in the guides.
DellBoy
I've tried that on three D620s and four D830s and it hasn't worked on any of them.
Administrators Bronxteck Posted August 27, 2012 Administrators Share Posted August 27, 2012 idk thats weird. are you using nullcpu kext without sleep enabler? although the d620gma does not need those for sleep. and the bios's need to be current. i think the early bios's had sleep issues. DellBoy
I don't have a D620 to hand right now so I'm trying again on a D630. The BIOS is D630_A18 and it's the Intel 1280 x 800 screen. I've just updated to EDP 431 and applied the predefined settings for that machine. I ran the required Terminal commands, booted into the BIOS and set a system password. Then I put it to sleep but, no matter what I do, it won't wake up and has to be restarted. I get the same results with all my Hackintoshes. What am I doing wrong? Administrators Bronxteck Posted August 27, 2012 Administrators Share Posted August 27, 2012 not sure why it would do that then... in terminal type in man pmset and read through it maybe try a diffrent pm setting. like 0 or 3. usually it's sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0 to fix the issue. default apple config is 3. Administrators Hervé Posted August 27, 2012 Administrators Share Posted August 27, 2012 No need for the BIOS password on the D630 (in fact I did not need it on my D620 nVidia either), but do apply the hibernation fix after EDP kexts installation (Fix menu). DellBoy
@Bronxteck - I've just tried sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0 but it still wouldn't wake from sleep. @Hervé- After doing what Bronxteck suggested I re-applied the hibernation fix and, it still won't wake from sleep. Hmmm... Maybe I'm jinxed!
Administrators Hervé Posted August 27, 2012 Administrators Share Posted August 27, 2012 I don't use the predefined settings and choose to opt for my own: - VoodooPS2Controller - NullCPUPowerManagement: yes - SleepEnabler: yes - Emulated SpeedStep: yes - VoodooTSCsync: yes - Patched AppleHDA STAC9205 #1 (D630) - VoodooBattery Could you try that and report back? I also updated the Chameleon to v2.1 r2035, but I don't think this does anything for sleep support.
