  1. Are you sure it kp or just hanging after displaying Ethernet? If the later, it means it's not able to load the display driver. If it has the Intel built-in display, it's probably the 1st generation gma display and getting QE/CI on it is hit and miss. So, please list your full specs here. Perhaps it might have different video.
  2. bpedman, Thanks, v7 works pretty good on my E6520, and thanks to Bjornw for uploading the version for Mavericks. On both version, I have an issue with dragging while using the trackstick. The left and right mouse click for the trackstick works but can't drag or increase/decrease windows size. Tried specific's advice to change 'Z' value but it doesn't work. Pointer still jumps to the right when you lift your finger from the trackstick. Can you get the trackstick scrolling to work too? That's the middle button. Right now it doesn't do anything. thanks again for the great work.
  3. rob, Found that the connectors in AppleIntelFramebufferCapri needs to be modded if the resolution is 1600x900 or higher. Included is the boot pack that should work for your model if you're still interesting in testing Mavericks. Included AppleIntelFramebufferCapri is from DP4,but won't cause any issue with DP1 installer. For those with 1366x768, just remove AppleIntelFramebufferCapri from the boot pack. Extra_Mavericks.zip
  4. When you bootup with the installer, the second you see Chameleon loading, you can interrupt it by hitting the enter key. From there, simply enter -v and nothing else, and then hit the enter key to continue.
  5. This guide should work for that model. It's for an E6430, but has all the specs you listed. Just need to change the resolution in boot.plist.
  6. Monkeytail, I get the EBIOS read error if I boot without the -v switch. So try booting with the -v switch and see if it make any difference for you. By the way, which version of Mountain Lion are you using for your installer?
  7. Incorrect. Dell E4310 comes with 1st gen Intel HD graphics, not 2nd gen HD3000. HD3000 doesn't appear on Dell Latitude laptops until the Exx20 series which fully enjoy graphics acceleration. 3rd gen HD4000 comes on the Exx30 series which also fully enjoy graphics acceleration.
  8. Take a look at this thread, includes a link to a working bookpack. Make sure to boot from a USB 2.0 port (left rear corner) You'll need to replace your Centrino wireless with a compatible card...Atheros or Broadcom to name a few.
  9. paky888, Boot from Ubuntu, from Terminal run this command: sudo intel_reg_dumper From the output, search for the line that starts with PCH_LVDS example: PCH_LVDS:0x80308302 (enabled, pipe A, 18 bit, 2 channel) If you see enabled, then you might be able to get full QE/CI with a little tinkering. If disabled, the most you'll get is CI for your display for now.
  10. This system has already been done. Check post here with all necessary files. You could follow this thread too. Same thing except smaller LCD and without number pad.
  11. The DW1510 is supported OOB, not the DW1520. I have both tested before. There's not known kext that will support DW1520 or it will ever be. It has a whole new chipset.
  12. Hmmm, the way you describe your issue lead me to believe that you might have a discrete card - Nvidia nvs5200m (Optimus). Please check your bios to verify. Also did you also include osxjeff's DSDT?
  13. cuppscakes, Take a look another member's Extra, he (osxjeff) seems to have things working. If you have a different processor, don't include the SSDT files. Just need the Extension folder, you could ignore the rest.
  14. Check out this article to change keys http://www.osxlatitude.com/use-a-pc-keyboard-with-your-hackintosh/ Sleep is working fine on my end. Make sure you don't have NullCPUPowerManagement.kext in EE and install patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext. You might have to fix permissions and update cache for the shutdown issue. Just re-run myHack/myfix to do all that. As for docking issue, do you have the dual dvi or dvi/vga port? You might have to use 1 dvi and 1 hdmi for dual monitor setup.
  15. Try going in SLE and delete AppleIntelHDGraphics and AppleIntelHDGraphicsFB if you see them. They usually get reinstall when you upgrade combo pack.
  16. Awesome, looks like you got everything up and running. Yes, run myHack each time you add/remove kext(s) from Extra folder, also fix some issue with shutdown too.
  17. If wifi no longer works (an immediate "Connection timed out" error) after upgrading to 10.8.4, replace the "airportd" file in "/usr/libexec" with this one, which is from 10.8.3, and reboot: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=2068 quote taken from bottom of this thread https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/1695-e6410-mountain-lion-guide/&do=findComment&comment=12072
  18. cuppscakes and everyone who has an Exx30 model with resolution 1600x900, My bootpack worked fine on my system with 1366x768 resolution and so was puzzled why it's not working for you guys. And then it dawned on me that everyone that has 1600x900 using my bootpack are having black screen issue. So I went and replaced my LCD to 1600x900. On first bootup, all I get is a blank screen, can't even see the BIOS post. I realized I had to replace the connector cable as well to detect the new hardware. Once that's done, Dell post comes on, Chameleon starts and then towards the end guess what, same black screen. So I poked around this forum and found that a few members had figured out that you have to patche AppleIntelFramebufferCapri to fix the issue. Now everything is working like before. I'll rebuild my bootpack and update the installation guide shortly. Stay tuned... Update: Guide is updated with new kexts and instructions
  19. Hi cuppscakes, Take a look at this guide, I updated the instruction to include systems with higher resolution than 1366x768 at the bottom. Please post your results. Good luck.
  20. ipizwang, Is it the same AppleIntelFramebufferCapri I uploaded or you have a different one? If different, can upload it so others can benefit it as well.
  21. casotv, The maximum module capacity per slot is 4gb for this model. ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_latitude_laptop/latitude-e6410_setup%20guide_en-us.pdf
  22. Download and Extract file to E/E and run myFix. Reboot and update your result here. AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext.zip
  23. Do you have the same spec as azub too? Is your LCD resolution 1366x768 or higher?
  24. Assuming you're installing with myHack, then extract the file to E/E and then run myFix to fix permission and update cache.
  25. This is done from Windows Follow thread to format and create a menu.lst file http://www.themudcrab.com/acronis_grub4dos.php Add this to menu.lst using notepad title Ubuntu 13.04 i386 find --set-root /ubuntu-13.04-desktop-i386.iso map /ubuntu-13.04-desktop-i386.iso (0xff) || map --mem /ubuntu-13.04-desktop-i386.iso (0xff) map --hook root (0xff) kernel /casper/vmlinuz file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed boot=casper iso-scan/filename=/ubuntu-13.04-desktop-i386.iso splash quiet -- initrd /casper/initrd.lz Make sure you include the Ubuntu iso file in the root, make sure the iso name and the text above matches ie. ubuntu-13.10-desktop-i386.iso
