You probably can't boot without the USB because you don't have Clover installed properly. F4 will extract the raw DSDT/SSDT file to /EFI/EFI/Clover/ACPI/Origin so you could patch them later after you boot The EFI partition will mount when you install Clover, however it'll only mount it the one time. After you reboot, it'll be unmounted. If you need to access the EFI partition, use Clover Configurator 4.25. If you're installing El Capitan, I have all the patched DSDT and kexts in my El Capitan guide.
-
Upload the DSDT and Config file and I'll patch them for you.

Looking for help to install El Capitan on Dell E6230
Jake Lo replied to dbanga's topic in The Archive
Sorry for the long delay, new guide here. -
Are you using Clover or Chameleon? Do you know which guide he followed or bootpack he used? This model has the Realtec ALC292 which is the same on my E7440.
-
Which bootpack did you use? See here for El Capitan bootpack. It includes an USB injector.

EAPD/Jack sense Fix (No sound and jack sense issue after sleep)

Does it work on a cold boot? If not, then it's not an EAPDfix issue. -
Yosemite Installation Guide - Latitude E5440 Intel i5 - Clover UEFI
Jake Lo replied to jorgexgb's topic in The Archive
Normally you can get it from AppleStore for free at time of release, but now only El Capitan 10.11.1 is available. -
Sure you can. A lot of LAN cards that are not Apple supported are developed by capable Hackintosher. But I have not seen one developed for Intel Wireless.

What don't you understand? Supported: Vendor Model Format Ven-Dev id Chip Rate SL L ML Mav Yos Cap OOB Kext (driver) Atheros AR5B91 Mini PCIe 168c-002a AR9281 B/G/N Y Y Y Y Y Y Y - Atheros AR5BXB72 Mini PCIe 168c-0024 AR5418/5133 A/B/G/N Y Y Y Y Y N patch Atheros40 SL, L, ML, Mav, ...these are OS X Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion and so on.. The Y denote that it is supported for that version of OS X. Under OOB and Kext (driver), Y(es) means it's supported Out of the Box, no kexts needed. If N(o), that means is supported but requires a patched kexts and the kext is same. All the USB dongles are supported below the post.

(Solved) New to hackintosh need help with Lenovo Thinkpad X201
Jake Lo replied to renerice's topic in The Archive
See here for more details and downloads. Go to the section that mentioned QE/CI. There's a link to the patched kexts. Select the right set for your rig. i.e., single link, dual link, OS X 10.10.5. As for wifi/bluetooth, what card do you have? Specify vendor / product ID You might need to install new patch kexts for it if it's still supported. -
Did you see this? You'll need to replace your Wireless/bluetooth combo card, it's not supported in OS X.

(Solved) New to hackintosh need help with Lenovo Thinkpad X201
Jake Lo replied to renerice's topic in The Archive
@renerice You probably didn't use the right switch to delete the kexts. see here for example -
That would be a Broadwell with HD 5500 graphics. See this thread instead. You would want to install El Capitan instead, Yosemite for your spec has some hang issue which is fixed on El Capitan.
-
The E5450 comes with 2 different CPU's, a Haswell or Broadwell. Which do you have?

(Solved) New to hackintosh need help with Lenovo Thinkpad X201
Jake Lo replied to renerice's topic in The Archive
Since it's a preHacked system, it's hard to tell what was being done on it to get it going in the first place. You can try booting to the Clover GUI, hit the space bar where you'll get some boot options. Select verbose or no cache mode. With that, hopefully you'll discover what's the cause of the hang. I believe since you upgraded to 10.10.5, your patched graphics kexts have been overwritten. To get it going, you could try booting to single user mode and delete /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHDGraphics* If that allows you to boot to the desktop, you can then replace them with the patched 10.10.5 version of the files. See here for more details and download. -
Install NullCPUPowerManagement.kext to /Extra/Extensions to continue with the installation. Once done, you might want to install the patched AICPUPM and get rid of NullCPU..

Check my Broadwell Guide. It includes instruction regarding DVMT and how to increase it.
