  1. Start with the Generic one and build from there; but I'm pretty sure Rosmaniac could share his /Extra with you.
  2. Delete unwanted kexts from /E/E or moved them to /Extra/RemovedExtensions (useful to reuse if ever required), then run myFix (quick). Regarding the files I mentioned earlier today: copy attached FakeSMC kext to /E/E FakeSMC.kext.zip copy attached DSDT + plists to /Extra DSDT.aml.zip org.chameleon.Boot.plist.zip smbios.plist.zip copy attached HWMonitor to Applications folder HWMonitor.zip run myFix (quick) and reboot. run HWMonitor and observe.
  3. That's an issue with your headset, nothing specific to Mac OS X. Some are awkward to put back in BT pairing mode if they were already paired to a computer right before.
  4. What are the specs of that laptop, especially the graphics card/chip?

    AMD lags

Special kernels like Nawcom's legacy kernels do that.
  6. Big "?" for your Quadro FX 4600 graphics card, but the rest should be Ok. Hopefully, these Xeon dual core will be better supported than some quad core that gave trouble to some users. Make sure to use one of the the latest Chameleon boot loaders. I've seen strange CPU things with r2266, but r2263 was Ok.
  7. Enable/activate/tick/set "Generate P-Sates" and "Generate C-States".
  8. I'll send you my M4300 kext+SMBIOS plist tonight. I guess you might have done something wrong. When you do these things, you have to make sure to remove the following kexts from /Extra/Extensions: FakeSMC v4.0 (obviously replaced by Kozlek's more recent version) CPUMonitor NullCPUPowerManagement VoodooTSCSync (keep only on systems with Intel 945GM chipset) You can also get rid of: IOATAFamily SleepEnabler Then, make sure to enable P-States & C-States in your Chameleon boot plist.
  9. You can get a copy here: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2032-dell-vostro-200/ You would need to update keys and smc-compatibility with values specified above with PlistEditorPro that you can download off the web. Failing that, I'll update my M4300 files tomorrow. But you can just download Kozlek's latest version for the M4300, since it fully support 64bit kernel mode; it'll work as long as you edit the FakeSMC plist as explained in the article.
  10. If you read our article, you'll see that our tests showed better graphics performance with MBP5,1 profile. The kexts are available from the article, look at the bottom if I remember right. If not, you can just download Kozlek's latest version, it'll be fine on the M4300. Just do the SMC + key modifications like in the article.
  11. Atheros AR9285 works OOB. Nothing to do to activate it other than making sure it's enabled in BIOS and/or switched on.

    ASUS N76VB

What kexts do you have in /Extra/Extensions? Are you using a myHack USB installer?
  13. Make sure to check the Chameleon boot plist before you reboot and remove the i386 parameter if it ever came back...
  14. A USB mouse should definitely work. Try to boot the USB installer with the ML bootpack.
  15. Just try the various PS2 kext package available in EDP; can't remember which one works Ok with Lion, but I'm pretty sure Apple PS2 kexts or myHack default kexts are Ok. ANV Slice certainly works too.
  16. My mistake, T8300 indeed!
  17. No such list here, although I had tried to start one up. The best place to look at for this kind of things is the wiki on IM. I personally contribute there.
  18. You can look at the file, it's totally safe...
  19. Mavericks is installed now with myHack 3.3 + M4300 modified Mav bootpack (removed the i386 settings). Installation was straight and painless. No problem whatsoever. No PCIRoot=1 PStates & CStates enabled No IOATAFamily/NullPowerManager/CPUMonitor/TSCSync/SleepEnabler kexts Just FakeSMC 5.2.678 kext with SMC key 1.33f8 and SMBIOS plist set to MBP5,1 profile + minor cosmetic fixes to DSDT table That girl is dancing on 1st tune.
  20. One critical point for Mavericks (somehow ML too) is the graphics card fitted to these workstations. Dell tended to fit nVidia Quadro FX card and they're hardly supported under Mac OS. So be prepared to swap your graphics card for ML and/or Mavericks.
  21. There are various ways to do that: boot a myHack USB installer that had the lspcidrv kext in /E/E -> should allow you to open up a Terminal window to type lspci -nn command If the PC still runs Windows, look at the various devices listed in Windows Device Manager use various Windows tools such as those listed by Dinesh in his R&D->DSDT/SSDT thread look up the published specs in the user manual (available off Dell's web site) etc, etc. Generally speaking, the main things to look at include CPU model, chipset (HDD controller), amount of RAM, model of graphics card (whether built-in and/or PCIe add-on), HDD type, audio chip, LAN and/or wireless card model, BIOS version (the BIOS settings can be important too). Have a look at the description I had made of my Precision 670 (a model much older than yours) in the EDP->Supported Models with Guides->Dell forum section. By the way, didn't you ask the same questions about ML for that particular machine in that same section last summer?
  22. The M4300 is very close to the D830 (and therefore somehow to the D630), so it would have been much better to use the D830 bootpack rather than the D820 if there was no M4300 bootpack at that time. The DSDT are more likely to be similar had you used the D830 bootpack. Naturally, what you ought to do these days, is use the actual M4300 bootpack. I took delivery of a WSXGA+ M4300 today and it'll soon be running Mavericks. I'll be able to report how the installation goes
