  1. Please check your reported PCI vendor id as I do not find the same on PCI database web site: http://www.pcidatabase.com/search.php?device_search_str=9204&device_search=Search You'll easily get those ids if you see the card under the USB section of your System Report. For instance: What's the target OS X version?
  2. Mm, well, if you've already re-run myFix (full), I don't see what could be wrong. Re-install but only replace the Ethernet kext after the EDP build, followed by a new myFix (quick) of course...
  3. Install one of the recent FakeSMC kexts from Kozlek (v5.2.xxx or later) and the associated HWMonitor tool should give you a lot of info.
  4. So you're not getting IP settings then... Can you list the contents of your /Extra/Extensions folder?
  5. Are you getting IP settings at all when you switch from manual to DHCP?
  6. These are 2 well-known benchmarking tools under OS X, yes, but GeekBench appears mostly (purely) CPU-oriented. Benchmark results are in R&D->Other Research section these days...
  7. PS2 kexts tend to use the same names throughout. Compare versions and sizes with a right click->More info.
  8. Good choice, one of the best buy these days is indeed a T9300 (2.5GHz, 6Mo L2 cache). A SSD will completely transform your experience, so if you can get one, don't hesitate! I have one in my D630 nVidia as well as in my D430 and you'll get so used to the speed and responsiveness that a system running on a 7200rpm HDD will appear painfully slow! If you upgrade RAM, opt for 4Go or 8Go DDR2-800. The chipset bus will still operate at 667MHz only but timings should remain better. I did some benchmarks over a year ago and RAM performance was better with DDR2-800 than with DDR2-667. The difference was not huge, but every little helps and there should be little difference pricewise if you go for 2nd hand RAM.
  9. Well, which audio pack did you opt for in EDP? Tried the latest VoodooHDA one?
  10. Not that it matters, but D820 does not support FSB-800 CPUs such as the T7500. That needs an Intel GM965/960 chipset. Gaming graphics will never be/score great on CAD-oriented GPU such as those fitted to M2300/M4300. You're not comparing Apple for Apple if I may dare the expression! You should do your test under Lion on your M4300 for the comparison to have real value... Then again, benchmarking hardware from an OS running in a VM is... peculiar. You ran Win7 in a VM on a PC under OS X?
  11. Read this too https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2673-performance-tuning-with-fakesmc/ Check you've configured your BIOS setup according to the recommended settings and make sure you have MultiCore and SpeedStep on. if you have a Merom CPU (T7xxx), keep Dynamic Acceleration off, but if you have a Penryn (P8xxx or T9xxx), you can enable it.
  12. There's nothing wrong with your CPU and you don't need to boot with option cpus=1. You don't have anything to do with your video connector either. Those are wrong & misleading paths. Two very important points about your BIOS settings: do not turn off SpeedStep, it's required for adequate CPU power & frequency management; re-enable it or your CPU will only run at lowest frequency, i.e. 600MHz in your case (T7250). if the parameter is available and since you have a Merom CPU, disable IDA (Intel Dynamic Acceleration). OS X does not support the feature for the Merom Core2Duo CPUs (only for Penryn) and it'll slow FSB and therefore CPU frequencies by about 10%. For instance, your CPU would not run at 600MHz but something like 540MHz at low speed, or 1.8xGHz instead of 2.0GHz at high speed. This being said, it's "just" your CPU & GPU management settings that need to be adjusted. Look for the performance tuning explained in the following article, that should normally help on the video front: http://www.osxlatitude.com/tuning-performance-with-fakesmc-smbios-plist/ There was a good recent testimony too: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2673-performance-tuning-with-fakesmc/ Your Vostro1400 looks similar to Dell Latitude D630/D830 nVidia laptops. As such , you can safely opt for those MBP5,1 settings mentioned in the article. NB: Bear in mind that the 2.0GHz T7250 Merom CPU is far from being the best performer of the FSB800 T7xxx family and its small cache (2Mo) can be a real slowdown. If you can update for cheap, do not hesitate. T9300s are great.
  13. I don't know where your DellBluetoothHCI kext is coming from, but no, that's not what I'm suggesting you use. Follow the same principles as in the tutorial I pointed to and patch the Broadcom PlugIn of the IOBluetoothFamily kext found in /S/L/E.
  14. You can get some pointers here: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2120-supportedunsupported-wireless-cards-inventory/ I can recommend the Atheros AR5B91, often found on ebay for peanuts as ex-Apple Mac.
  15. Your current wireless card is not supported, you'll have to replace it by a supported model. However, careful as HP uses whitelists, so you can only use those models that HP will also actually support... https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2120-supportedunsupported-wireless-cards-inventory/ For the audio, did you try some of those Voodoo kext packs like v2.7.x or 2.8.x? For battery, Voodoo battery manager kext usually does the trick, the SmartBatteryManager too.
  16. Remove that Intel 4965 wireless card (or at least disable it in BIOS); it's not supported and will only cause issues which can go as far as Kernel Panics at startup. You'll need to replace that card by a supported model. Re: Ethernet, it would appear you have an Intel card as opposed to the usual Broadcom NetXtreme card for some reasons. That's why you have no Ethernet at the moment! 00:19.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation 82566MM Gigabit Network Connection [8086:1049] (rev 03) You need to use the kext linked below and remove BCM5722D kext that you have in /Extra/Extensions at the moment (it is useless). Run myFix (quick) after your kexts change. http://www.osx86.net/files/file/3468-intel82566mm-32-64-bit/
  17. Copy the attached kexts to the folder called Extensions that you will find under Extra when you double click on your OS X disk (hence the "/Extra/Extensions" path). Then, click Go->Applications and run myHack->myFix (quick) on "/" (your current drive) to properly install the kexts on your system.
  18. It would be useful to specify the OS X versions you ran this on as it may affect things. For instance, it probably has no official support under Mavericks.
  19. I guess that'll be Win8 then, it's Ok with Win7.
  20. Which PlugIn kext did you patch? I'm asking because I did a quick search on the Net for the DW370 module and I get pictures of a Broadcom-based card. As such, it looks like it's not the CSR kext that needs patching (unlike for DW350 or DW360), but the Broadcom one... On looking at your attached file, I could not find any reference to product id 33110 (=0x8156 in decimal) in any Info.plist...
  21. Can you post the Bluetooth adapter's PCI IDs as they appear in System Report? Tuto was here and took CSR chip-based models as examples.
  22. No links, no, but you can post the list of kexts you have in /E/E if that's available...
  23. You can install Windows on GUID partitions, so no need for the MBR patch... It's a simple matter of formatting the Win partition as FAT in Mac OS Disk Utility before you proceed with Windows installation and reformatting NTFS.
  24. Try redoing your USB installer without the MBR patch. D630C is nVidia Quadro NVS 135M-only model, right?
  25. BCM5722D will not work on the D620, it's for a different model fitted to D630 for instance.
