OS X Mavericks, Windows 8.1 x64 GPT/MBR Conflict
npjohnson replied to Advanttage's topic in The Archive
You can configure chameleon to default to windows unless you specify osx. Good luck. -
The one linked in my signature is awesome, so is the one linked in Jake Lo's. Both work OOB. Both are mini pcie.

Successfully installed Maverick on Dell Latitude D830 flawlessly...but...

As for extending your desktop, just plug in the VGA and go to system preferences ==> Display ==> hold alt (or mapped option key) and click detect. Should work. If you are referring to mirroring, sorta, unfortunatly it is shotty on some D models... -
It is a slightly updated version. If it isn't a big deal just copy it to /usr/bin next time you get a chance. Oh... and Haha, if you ever need any help learning OS X just PM me with questions, some stuff isn't intuitive, but I find it far superior to Windows and Linux.

You should just reinstall chameleon from the myHack.app, best bootloader I've ever seen. Oh and for Wifi, check the card in my signature. -
I am attempting the DW5520 method on the E6420 using the Gobi 3000 Mini PCI card. (CDMA and Verizon as opposed to GSM and Orange), I folled all the steps, and I have found that it seems to be working and recognized by the WWAN section of System Info, and the APN to use is "vzwinternet" and that will get you dialed up to, though I do not use windows as an OS, I used a different laptop to extract the password. Though I have to wonder... For the Gobi 3000 there are linux drivers (with source code)... Technically speaking we could use a live boot disk and dial up, then extract the passwords from the /etc/network/interfaces or /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections, both locations store logs of the connection, The password and Username can be extracted from there. This is untested, but it should theoretically work...

Howd you do the dedicated extra thing? Thatd be cool if you figured that out. But im kinda confused, my boot pack was idwbticke to jake lo'subtracting a newer fakesmc which shouldnt cause any problem. Huh. Figures. You knoow though you may be right, sometimes when I do something that jake does, it doesnt/sorta works. I did call in a warranty recenttly where they replaced ALOT of stuff. I wonder if they did a silent upgrade of some stuff?
