I've searched Google and nothing. Create a bootable dos USB drive, look here. Download the executable BIOS file from dell. Boot from the USB and execute the file ie. dos> E6410A14

Moderators Jake Lo Posted April 17, 2014 Moderators Share Posted April 17, 2014 That link is broken. Is there anyway I can use Hirens? I guess it's temporarily down. You could try that or google it. "Dos on USB"
shaykee
Yeah, I'm not usually one to ask for help without searching first. Trust me i've been looking... I have bios version a06. Is there really any benefit to me upgrading my bios, or if it works should I just leave it be?
v3ct0r
I've noticed a good battery life boost between the older BIOSes and A14. Also, the fan is more controlled in the later updates. Check the change logs if you really want to know. To make a bootable DOS drive: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/46707-ms-dos-bootable-flash-drive-create.html After that, throw the BIOS executable on the root of the drive: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/driverdetails?driverid=WMHW9 Lastly, when it boots, execute the executable by typing the following: E6410A14.exe[PRESS ENTER KEY NOW]

As the old saying goes, if it's not broken, don't fix it. But there's no issue with the latest BIOS update if you want to upgrade it.
shing
Is there any issue with enabling c states in the chameleon plist or is that being taken care of somewhere else?
