  1. that gets cached if you cold shutdown your system. Interrupt the boot on reboot, remove the -v and boot normally. Then shutdown or restart to see if that's resolved.
  2. Click on the link on my signature file below under E6430 with nvs5200m /Mavericks (3rd one down). Just leave out the SSDT files as that's patched for i7-3720qm in the bootpack. Post your result after following the guide.
  3. do you have a non-vpro processor? If so, check out my guide here with help from tarfoh to disable the nvidia card through DSDT. I haven't gotten the vpro version to work yet.
  4. Can you boot with -v and post the error message?
  5. If you remove the 8gb ram, does it boot again? No, still no sleep for nvidia. If you have time and an extra hdd, try removing all the nvda* and geforce* kexts from SLE, and enable optimus. See if you could get that to boot, you might then be able to get sleep with HD3000. You'll have to mod DSDT to enable HD3000 too.
  6. I don't know how Chameleon will handle both GUID and MBR, but you could try running Chameleon Wizard from your OSX disk , and install method to Boot0md. I don't have windows 8, but I'm running windows 7 with optimus disabled and both external monitors works fine through the dock. What I do is configure it through the Nvidia Control Panel (setup multiple displays).
  7. Disabling Optimus means it uses Nvidia card exclusively. When enabled, it switches from nvidia to HD 4000 for power management. You should not have an issue with nvidia powering 2 monitors. How is your windows formatted? MBR or GUI?
  8. Confirmed! You have an Intel wireless card. Need to be replaced with a known compatible one from the list I posted earlier.
  9. Most likely you have an Intel Wireless card, it's not supported. You'll need to replace it with a supported one. Check here for ones that's been tested to work.
  10. Click on the link on my signature file below for your specific model. It includes instructions and bootpack too. I'm assuming E6430 with Optimus Nvidia nvs5200m?
  11. You need to put DSDT back, just not SSDT.
  12. Do you have the nvidia optimus enabled or you only have HD3000? Running with muticore works fine for me. Is the light blinking or just solid light?
  13. the boot pack has ssdt for another processor. not yours. please list your specs here.
  14. If you already created the usb installer, then just run my hack, select install Extra and point to my boot pack.
  15. try this boot pack for mavericks, don't use the SSDT Extrae6220.zip
  16. Hi sandflee, Sorry for the long delay...here's the instruction to the new build with optimus enabled.
  17. This hack will disable nvs4200m with DSDT and allow sleep with HD 3000! Credits: Special thanks to Conti (myHack) Tarfoh for the patched DSDT Telanx for patched AppleHDA qwerty12 for DisableIntelTurboBoost for Power Management Specs: Latitude E6520, BIOS A18 | i7-2720QM 2.2GHz | 8GB DDR3 | nVidia 4200M/HD3000, 1920x1080 | Rebranded Dell DW1510 | What's working: Full QE/CI Keyboard and mouse (multitouch) - thanks to bpedman, yeahoon and npjohnson - check this Audio - thanks to telanx for the patched AppleHDA Sleep - thanks to tarfoh's DSDT to disable nvs4200m Wifi - replaced Intel Card with DW1510 (rebranded) LAN Webcam Not working (WIP): HDMI Video & Audio (might be tied to the Nvidia card) Let's get started... I use the myhack method for this build, so follow instructions to build your USB installer, set BIOS settings and run the OSX Installation from http://myhack.sojugarden.com/guide/ For best results, set BIOS to default, apply it and then go back to set Sata Operation to AHCI Enable Optimus in Video! If you have different processor than the specs above, replace with correct SSDT included in the SSDT folder. Make sure to rename to SSDT, otherwise it won't boot DSDT-2CH.aml = DualLink ; DSDT = SingleLink; modify in org.chameleon.boot.plist depending on your display To disable Optimus and use only Nvidia NVS 4200M, use this DSDT DSDT.aml.zip After creating your USB installer, run myHack again Select Install Extra and point to the Extra folder attached (extract it first) Extra_MAV.zip Boot up system with USB installer disk with -v Format the HDD per instruction from myHack site (GPT and Journaled) Select "Use my Own" when prompt, point it to the Extra folder in the root of the USB installer drive Delete the 3 files when prompt If you get an Install Failed error towards the end, that's fine, restart the computer. Remove the USB installer drive Boot from the HDD and complete the customization by following the wizard After logging on: in System Preferences Enable Clicking for Trackpad Allow apps downloaded from: Anywhere for Security &Privacy Fixes: If you want to enable TRIM, rename IOAHCIFamily.kext.bak to IOAHCIFamily.kext in EE and re-run myfix(quick) Don't install VoodooSDHC - it breaks sleep If you encounter error above when playing a DVD movie the first time, replace DVDPlayback.framework.zip 2.86MB 13 downloads in System/Library/Frameworks. Don't forget to backup yours first. For Mountain Lion Install, remove the following from the above boot pack: AppleKextExcludeList IOAHCIFamily AppleIntelHDGraphicsFB AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB And replace 2 files with this ML.zip JL
  18. First off, do you have the Intel x3100 or Nvidia card? Try removing IntelCPUMonitor.kext and try again.
  19. Hey JL, Do you think some of my problems could be that I'm booting and loading from a external USB drive that has Mavericks on it? I wouldn't think so, but I thought I should throw it in there. Bob Yes, because usb devices gets dismounted after sleep, that would explain your system hanging.
  20. Use the SSDT for i5-3340m and select dropSSDT=Yes, uncheck both Generate P and C states
