Dell Precision M5510 does not boot Mojave after BIOS update
Jake Lo replied to linuxchan6's topic in The Archive
Hmm, you must be using an older version of Clover. There's only AptioMemoryFix.efi, no AptioMemoryFix-64.efi in the latest Clover. -
@Jazzoo Then I guess layout-id 11 is the best you'll get or you could learn how to patch your own Audio. https://osxlatitude.com/forums/topic/1946-complete-applehda-patching-guide/#comments For wake, try adding to boot arg darkwake=0

You could try different layout-id for ALC293. See if there's one that will allow external mic

The obvious problem is that it's running in an external drive. Move the drive internally -
Dell Alienware 15 r4 i7-8750H: need help with Intel UHD 630
Jake Lo replied to Darkshadow7890's topic in The Archive
@Darkshadow7890 If your system is same as this, it might be you can't disable the iGPU and need to use the Nvidia. In that case you can only run High Sierra as there's no support for Nvidia after. The last post include a guide and bootpack. -
try going into sound preference->Input and select Line In

Jake Lo replied to Riane's topic in The Archive
try this one and boot with verbose mode if it gets stuck again to see where it hangs config.plist.zip -
at clover gui, press O to get to Options. Add to boot arg -igfxvesa Do that until the installation is complete, then you could boot without.
-
Use latest version v5119 and replace your boot files from here, goes into /EFI/Clover replacing the old

Haier Y11B: Brightness resets automatically upon reboot
Jake Lo replied to gamersab's topic in The Archive
if you have AppleBacklightInjector.kext in /L/E or /S/L/E, remove it and repair permission, rebuild cache Replace SSDT-PNLF.aml in the patched folder with the attache run in terminal to reset nvram sudo nvram -c SSDT-PNLF.aml.zip -
@wellingtonsa Optimus does not work on Hacks so your nvidia is disable via SSDT patching. As for you Wifi, it probably has an unsupported device...perhaps Intel? You'll need to replace it with a supported device like DW1560, DW1830 or DW1820A. See list of known supported/unsupported devices here

Dell Precision M5510 does not boot Mojave after BIOS update
Jake Lo replied to linuxchan6's topic in The Archive
@linuxchan6 I'm running Catalina/Clover and just updated the 5510 to latest BIOS 1.14.2 without any issue. Are you running with static DSDT or hot patching? If with static DSDT, then you'll need to repatch your new DSDT. -
try different layout-id for audio 13, 15, and 77

Haier Y11B: Brightness resets automatically upon reboot
Jake Lo replied to gamersab's topic in The Archive
@gamersab You have both AptioMemoryFix.efi and EmuVariableUefi.efi in your drivers/UEFI folder. Install one or the other, not both. Like Hervé suggested, if you're using EmuVariableUefi.efi, make sure to install RC Scripts when you're installing Clover. AptioMemoryFix.efi does not need it. -
ELAN and FocalTech (Smart Touchpad) driver Issues
Jake Lo replied to EMlyDinEsH's topic in Smart Touchpad
@AkshayBhat Please give this version a try https://osxlatitude.com/forums/topic/13583-kext-voodoops2-support-for-elan-touchpad/ -
Your NVMe drive most likely don't have PM. Try adding NVMEFix.kext Audio...strange your Config shows layout-id=13 but your IOReg files show layout-id=3, yet generic_ioreg.kext shows layoutid=3 as well. So you must've some conflict somewhere. Your Intel wifi/BT combo is not ready for support yet. Though you should be able to find IntelBlueboothIjector somewhere that might work. There's also Intel wifi semi support as well, you can find that in one of our research section. Currently the system with crash if the Intel kext is loaded on boot, so you'll need to manually load it after boot and you'll need to hardcode in the SSID and password in the info.plist of the kext

E5470 with i5 6440HQ + HD 530 + Full HD screen: seeking EFI for Catalina
Jake Lo replied to PMD's topic in The Archive
@duypham312 Yes, that's the same behavior I have for my E7470, but only if you just boot up the system. If it had gone through a sleep cycle prior to inserting the external monitor, it'll work fine.
