E6430 + E-Port Plus PR02X Advanced Port Replicator: USB ports not working
Hervé replied to bobopopo's topic in The Archive
USB3.0 requires that you inject Darwin as Vista/Win7 in ACPI, either through direct DSDT patch or through Clover config for instance. But it sounds like you already do. Boot Catalina with USBInjectAll only for USB. Then run Hackintool and generate the SSDT-UIAC table + USBPorts kext. You may then boot with either USBInjectAll kext + SSDT-UIAC table or USBPorts kext on its own. -
Then refer to the note on post #1.

Indeed, the patch consists of adding those lines I've detailed. Can't see what difficulty you have here, I've clearly explained things in plain english. NB: There's no need to quote every message you reply to, so -please- don't! Simply use the "Reply to this topic..." box at the bottom of your page to post a reply...

Indeed, you can do it. With minimal research, you'd find that GFX0 and IGPU are interchangeable ACPI device names and that renaming GFX0 to IGPU is actually recommended for Intel iGPUs. It's one of the many ACPI patches offered by Clover Configurator... If you do not want to patch your DSDT, then lookup the alternative posted by Jake Lo; it's based on dedicated supplemental SSDT tables.

Newbie trying to install Catalina on a Dell E6230
Hervé replied to johnfc2020's topic in The Archive
We have a fully detailed guide + a dedicated BIOS settings thread for this particular model; please refer to those. -
My 7490 guide details the DSDT patch I applied to get brightness control out of Fn-F11/Fn-F12. You may try and apply the same to your own extracted DSDT. For Command/Option, just use the Keyboard PrefPane to swap the keys...

Why don't you use the pack I posted to begin with? You've added some USB patches to your Clover config...

E6430: audio control and video brightness control + apple store login error
Hervé replied to lucahappy's topic in The Archive
Yes, that should do. -
It's well-known that you need to boot the "macOS Install from ... Data" to complete the update.
-
You've not grasped that you must use: either USBInjectAll kext + SSDT-UIAC table or USBPorts kext on its own But you don't combine them...

I've had no issue with all the BCM4350 cards I've tested once I applied the ASPM patch. This includes the Lenovo 00JT494/Foxconn T77H649.00 model. I gave that card to @Allan who's got wireless working on his own laptop (can't remeber the model). @Jake Lo also got BCM4350 cards working in his Latitude E7x50 so he can vouch for (some of) them.

These adapters are basically simple converters. No reason why they would not work. Just check that they're combo and support PCIe + BT signals, not just PCIe only (otherwise, no Bluetooth!). They would then need to be installed in mini-PCIe combo slots to support both wireless + Bluetooth. You're more likely to meet an issue with the antenna connectors. Those used on mini-PCIe cards and therefore fitted to laptops with mini-PCIe slots are bigger than those required for M.2/NGFF cards and simply won't fit/attach. You'll need antenna adapters. The exact names/types of those various connectors elude me right now but you can look this up.

The DSDT patch required for Fn-UP/Fn-DOWN brightness control is detailed in my E6230 guide. Please look it up. BIOS needs to operate in UEFI mode. -
There's no need to quote every message you reply to, so -please- don't! You appear to have done everything by the book, so nothing further to suggest I'm afraid. I assume you've already disabled Wifi and booted Ok to be able to identify issue came from the BCM4350 card.

Your config looks Ok to me; you may try to declare compatibility with pci14e4,4353 if things don't work with pci14e4,4331.

Top right corner; click on the black "A" then select a keyboard that matches your own particulars.

Follow the existing Mojave thread(s) for this model.

I'm afraid this is not a very good "guide" at all... Final pack is also poor and erroneous: FakePCIID_XHCIMux without FakePCIID, USBInjectall + USBPorts + SSDT-UAIC, SATA-unsupported, Clover patches, patched DSDT... Installation pack is shock horror! We have much better guides for the E6x30 models that provide full functionality for the laptops.

T8100 is Penryn with SSE4.1 instructions set so all macOS versions released to date can be installed on the nVidia model (GMA X3100 models are out of the scene since Mountain Lion). However I don't recommend it because: Mojave (and later) no longer support the old Tesla NVS 135M dGPU. Special tricks have to be applied to gain limited/OpenGL-only (and occasionally buggy) graphics acceleration and they have to be re-applied after each OS update. OS updates can turn into quite a challenge. For experts only to be truthful... Due to the graphics limitations, performance tends to be quite poor under Mojave and later, even with T9x00 CPUs so it'll be worse with T8x00 given their reduced L2 cache. Honesty dictates to advocate sticking to High Sierra for a regular/normal/enjoyable use but you may consult this guide for Mojave & Catalina:

Dell Latitude 3400: macOS installation keeps failing
Hervé replied to MrJonesIII's topic in The Archive
The other cards listed are Key A/E, so suitability of any such macOS compatible card goes without saying... -
Can't be a laptop with nVidia dGPU any more. Apple and nVidia divorced several years ago...

TP-Link published a revised Catalina driver for TL-WN727N v5 in January. Use that. Previous versions probably aren't supported.
-
It's not a partial EFI, it's the set of Clover files that are applicable to the 7490, the rest being what Clover will install according to the version of Clover you install. The pack therefore comes to complement the Clover version provided in the guide you got the pack from. If your 3490 specs are very close to the those of the 7490, then you may proceed with the same guide and setup, except the DSDT of course.

"nk" terminology refer to horizontal resolutions so "2k" refers to a resolution of 1920x1080, aka "Full HD". If your monitor is "2k", 1080p will be the best you can get. 2560x1440/1440p is "2.5k"... You've activated WEG boot parameter -cdfon but I see no enable-hdmi20 property injection in your Clover config. I would suggest you add that, I believe it's expected. If 1440p resolution remains natively unsupported/unavailable, try SwitchResX app.

I doubt it has anything to do with the kexts used for USB ports multiplexing. OP has added a couple of patches for USB to his Clover config (on top of the totally unnecessary AppleIntelCPUPM patch for Sandy/Ivy Bridge...). I would recommend to: remove those USB patches return to USBInjectAll and cache all kexts from /L/E after cache has been rebuilt and system rebooted, run Hackintool to regenerate SSDT-UIAC table + USBPorts kext and stick to what our guides recommend of course...
