you probably also need the hda disabler kext to run voodoohda -
have you tried pmset hibernate options? in terminal type sudo pmset hibernate mode 0 default is 3 if you wish to change it back. you can also try the chameleon flag darkwake=0

i posted few options here for pci config https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/6043-usb-install-in-vmware/?p=34053 post 17 maybe that should be it's own post and stickied or on the main page.

EE is or E/E is short for the path /Extra/Extensions folders

i don't think laptops have powered firewire ports.

in bios you would have to set it to legacy instead of uefi for chameleon to boot. you also would have to install chameleon to the hard drive. i think jake already posted a solution for you here https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/5804-help-with-dell-e5420-installation/?p=34037

you would have to tinker with hd3000 graphics kexts and frame buffers to get it to load. to get to the install screen you might have to remove the intel kexts from S/L/E and the frame buffer kexts.

depends on your device id for the graphics.... apple actually messed up some of the id's in the kexts. i don't remember which version corrected the id's. if it's 10.9.1 or one of the 10.9.2 previews. if you can. try updating chameleon they have added a lot of new code lately some pertain to graphics as of today it is at rev 2368

well you need to run my fix when ever there are changes in your Extensions folder. dart=0 is to disable vt-d issues related to virtualization if your core supports that feature but the bios does not have a disable option. vt-d can cause instant reboots. the glitching in your video is that you are missing hardware acceleration for your graphics card. frame buffer issue or un supported graphics.

umm whats Ctrl+F ? if you mean -F that bypasses org.chame.Boot configurations... has nothing to do with nullcpu.kext i just remove/rename file Extention for AppleIntelCPUPowerManegment.kext from SLE and in E/E, but that works for me; for you maybe yes maybe no. nullcpu.kext is the safe method but it will break sleep.

then that can be you issue... there is a known bug with the MBR patch thats documented on the site by users. it usually surfaces as your problem.

i assume you got paid for those 30 years.... or did you do out out of free will. We started as a dell only site hence the name of the site, and at that it was only D series latitudes. we try our best but our personal lives come first. then as we can we help. there is no obligation to do so, but we do. we are not for profit and barely sustain the domain fees mostly coming out of our own pockets to help others. do you see adds anywhere here. now if this was OsxAsusX44H.com and i paid to get a working product then maybe i would be upset a bit. things happen. thank you for letting us know. as far as i recall none of the maintainers of EDP has one of those machines. so as you mention we do not have the platform to test. sorry about your issues with it. but i am glad you got it working. and i am sure you now have a better understanding of how and what makes you machine tick.

before replacing the Mic check if it is disabled in bios if there is an option.

Missing eject button, disk ejection problem
Bronxteck replied to grigroij9026's topic in The Archive
ok. on my machine running 10.9.1 i do have System > Library > CoreServices > Menu Extras Eject.menu so maybe you have a corrupted install. maybe you can use pacifist to add your missing files from the installer. -
use the more reply options to attach files it should be next to the post button. hhm you might have to remove AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement kext. from e/e and use nullcpu.kext

need to find a newer ethernet kext most likely.
