  1. i have never had to patch dsdt EC for fan so i would not know either. all i could find as a solution for it was https://github.com/hirschmann/nbfcmaybe it can be ported to osx
  2. hmm I think 2009 mbp had gpu issues one of the symptoms was going black or just rebooting sometimes it was a grey screen with stripes. hopefully thats not your case.
  3. what type of thermal issues are you having? cpu can be that it needs a proper SSDT generated for your cpu or you need new thermal compound or the fan needs servicing from dust. if its gpu it might need GPUPM tuning. or also needs fresh thermal paste/ cleaning or you need to specify a better smbios closer to your hardware.
  4. if you can upload a picture of that error maybe it will show what the error is.
  5. i guess you could get the clover files from the downloadable iso and kinda cobble it together. you could use the boot folder and the cloveriax64 in clover folder
  6. ok maybe your clover boot loader is too old for Sierra support update it.
  7. what kernel are you substituting? last line says its the wrong kernel.
  8. drag the file to your desktop, make your edits there then replace it. set correct permissions for the file and rebuild kernel cache.
  9. check your energysaver prefpane to see if you have something set to not sleep. something is set to not let it sleep from your output. InternalPreventSleep 1 "com.apple.powermanagement.acwakelinger" Idle sleep preventers: IODisplayWrangler
  10. most likely usb related what does pmset command print out pmset -g assertions
  11. maybe you can try this for your t440 https://github.com/tluck/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller
  12. did you change your hibernate mode to 0 using terminal command prompt? sudo pmset hibernatemode 0
  13. could be the kernel is handling the power management for you. i do not need a cpu SSDT for my ivy bridge machines seems to work native.
  14. well what the worst that can happen? you learn a new bootloader method? go for it.
  15. you probably have the HDD setup as hybrid mbr thats why legacy functions. you have to install windows in UEFI mode
  16. dinesh's driver is for pretty much all other trackpad other then alps so if it worked for you it most likely is not alps.
  17. gees you are not kidding i found a set of 4 used cards for 28 bucks on ebay
  18. you would have to extract it from the installer app. and might need pacifist app
  19. try recreating your smbios. you might have conflicting info in it. also make sure your ethernet is EN0 and wifi is EN1
  20. hmm I do see pci14e4,432b in airportbrcm4331 kext maybe you can try faking the id in clover or dsdt?
  21. well that alps driver is a work in progress at the moment so if you want to try it go ahead and report your findings there. as for windows if you are using UEFI then you will have to install windows as a UEFI install. you will probably have to delete that ms-dos partition during install and have windows remake it. unless it lets you format it.
