[SOLVED] Run macOS Sierra from an external hard drive, possible?
Bronxteck replied to spidey123's topic in The Archive
oh sorry. XhciDxe-64.efi is for usb3 I believe. you did not specify it was your machine in your sig. you can try different USB ports when booting the external. -
yeah i dont think you should be having so many issues lol. i wonder how old the ps2 kext is you are using. some where causing issues on 10.11.3 and up. if you have a usb mouse and keyboard try with out the ps2 kexts.

clover r799 is way too old for sierra. look over the config file and see if there are any graphics glitch patches in kext to patch section. disable them or remove them.
-
try switching usb ports or reinserting the usb when you get to that error.

you probably need to add this patch in clover kexts to patch courtesy of darkvoid it is pretty much mandatory for sierra and brcm4360 based cards like DW1550/DW1560 Kext: AirPortBrcm4360 Find: 81F952AA00007529 Replace: 81F952AA00006690 Comment: initialize the fvco (frequency voltage controlled oscillator) boot without caches after adding patch.

sounds like the same issues we had with the D430 it shared IRQ's with other devices. devices would disappear.

yes and yes also follow Herve's suggestions above. the only difference is that you must make sure your smbios is compatible with 10.11. it should be most likely. -

it shows up in your DSDT under device pcie Device (CRD0) { Name (_ADR, 0x00010000) // _ADR: Address Method (_INI, 0, NotSerialized) // _INI: Initialize { SMI (0x95, 0x04) } Name (_S1D, Zero) // _S1D: S1 Device State Name (_S3D, 0x03) // _S3D: S3 Device State } weird though it's missing Name (_CID, EisaId ("PNP0D40")) // _CID: Compatible ID I guess the bios is super old. you can try adding it in like this on top Device (CRD0) { Name (_CID, EisaId ("PNP0D40")) // _CID: Compatible ID Name (_ADR, 0x00010000) // _ADR: Address Method (_INI, 0, NotSerialized) // _INI: Initialize { SMI (0x95, 0x04) } Name (_S1D, Zero) // _S1D: S1 Device State Name (_S3D, 0x03) // _S3D: S3 Device State }

Bronxteck replied to EMlyDinEsH's topic in Smart Touchpad
the caps lock issue happens on real Macs as well so it is not an issue with the kext.
