I'm not home right now, but I'm pretty sure my E6420 upgraded without an issue with ComboUpdate. Using MBP8,2 with Clover v3354. Not sure if it's related, but I've seen others have success with switching OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi with OsxAptioFixDrv2-64.efi

Make sure to install the kexts in /Kexts/Other/LE to /Library/Extensions and then run the permission fix and recreate cache. This will add the audio kexts. Make sure you have a successful output when you ran those commands. If it still doesn't work, then display your terminal output here to determine your issue.

Thanks cptscruffy2. I figured it out. I need to enable both Remaps Brightness Keys Remaps Volume Keys Now both Fn+F1, Fn+F2, Fn+F3, F1, F2, and F3 works with volume control Brightness controls with F11 and F12, and F6 dims

see this thread? Seems to be an issue upgrading to 10.11.4 with other updates. Do you have a quad-core CPU?

Get rid of GenericUSBXHCI, not compatible on El Capitan. Try upgrading Clover too.

@rshultz101 Not sure why you can't scroll with 2 fingers, it works OOTB even without Karabiner. I'm only using Karabiner to remap the brightness controls. You can't use unpatched DSDT/SSDT from A10 as there's no benefits than not using any DSDT/SSDT at all. You need them patched to make any significant performance to your system. Ethernet issue, try AppleIntelE1000 instead if IntelMausiEthernet is not working well for you. @cptscruffy2 So are you saying that F1, F2, and F3 works for your volume control and not Fn+F1..etc. etc.

BCM94352Z: no 5GHz wifi connexion (Lenovo Z51-70)

Awesome, it's Lenovo compatible passing the whitelist. -
F1, F2, and F3 for volume control does not work, still have to use Fn+F1, Fn+F2, and Fn+F3 which are working without the Remapping. I had already experimented with F11 and F12 for brightness but I lose the F11 for toggling windows, so I decide to just use F6 and Fn+F6 for brightness.

You probably didn't use it correctly or edited the plist incorrectly with MacKextlight.

The files probably got updated to EFI folder on the HDD. Just copy the contents to the EFI partition by mounting it with EFI-mounterv3. Just leave out these 4 items: Config.plist, Kexts folder and ACPI folder, and theme folder. Oh and make sure HFSPlus-64.efi is restore to Driversx64UEFI. IF you have overwrite it, you can find it in the EFI-Backups

change the CPU Type from 0706 to 0606 in Clover Config or just remove it. that should fix the CPU display as i5 fn+4 dumps raw DSDT/SSDT, no longer needed as I have already included the patched files, unless you want to repatch your own from scratch. touchpad, 2 fingers scrolling works but no multitouch. The trackstick also works as a regular mouse, but with Karibiner, you could enable scrolling too. Refer back to the E7450 guide under Trackstick scrolling No problem updating to 10.11.4, but make sure to install updated AppleHDA_ALC293 found in guide under Updates.

@taddeusz Use bootpack from here, it includes USB injector. Or just add the kext and the patch to rename EHC1 and EHC2 to EH01 and EH02 respectively.
-
try booting without cache mode and then repair permission and create cache.

See here and here

To get sound and sleep on LID to work, you need to install ACPIPoller, EAPDFix & AppleHDA_ALC293 to /L/E or /S/L/E found in kexts/Other/LE Brightness control...F6 dims, but you'll need to install Karibiner and update the private.xml as stated in the E7450 guide. Without the DSDT, you won't have audio, webcam, or SD card reader working.

E6530 El Capitan installation booting Clover issue
Jake Lo replied to npyadav1's topic in The Archive
If you disable Optimus, only nvidia NVS5200m is loading. The Intel HD injection won't work. You need to enable Optimus, disable nvidia with DSDT patch and add the Intel HD injection to work. -
I just tried the link, download works fine. Only get one popup window in Safari, but just close it and download from the original window. Your Config.plist probably has the FB patch to bypass the check, but I prefer BIOS DVMT preallocated mod better. I have update the BIOS to A10, no change to OS X, booted just fine. The DSDT has not link to CPU so should work for your i5 as well. You could try the old DSDT/SSDT bootpack before the update and see if it makes a difference. The reason I updated is because I want to eliminate SSDT-1 and add the HDMI audio patches to DSDT. But by doing so, I lose mouse access after sleep. By adding additional SSDT-0 and SSDT-7, the issue is gone which I added as the updated bootpack. You need to generate SSDT for your CPU and add to ACPI/Patched before enabling DropOem, could be the cause of your crash.

It seems to be fine on my E7440 with Haswell so, try it.

Download the latest 10.11.4. Create a new installer with the same bootpack. Use latest Clover v3368 or 3345. Both will work.
-
Did you follow this guide? universal bios backup toolkit 2.0 download link is in the guide. Without setting DVMT, you won't have full graphics acceleration QE/CI. The sound and SD card reader are all patched in the DSDT, they won't work without it. It also fixes the sleep issue.
-
El Capitan has a new challenge with USB devices. The bootpack from the guide includes an USB injector that will fix the issue. If all done correctly, it'll have no issue booting and installing.
-
try changing Compiler to ACPI 4.0 or 5.1 if you have it at 4.0

check this post.

Copy the dummHDA which ever name it's call ( i.e. AppleHDA_ALC255) to the Desktop. Download this by Axel-Erfurt Launch it, and drag the dummyHDA to the open window On the right window, browse all the way to the bottom. Add this between and <key>com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily</key> <string>1.2.0a1</string> <key>com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily</key> <string>1.1</string> Click on save. Install kext back to the location repair permission and rebuild cache
