Tried that and still experienced the loss of TouchPad + system freeze on wake so I have to force a hard reset afterwards. I'm not using any VoodooPS2daemon or Synapticsconfigload, no.
-
No change: no TouchPad on wake and system freeze after a few seconds.
-
ATI X300 graphics card is not supported either. I think it last worked in Leopard, that shows how ancient it is! As low-profile cheap card, I can recommend nVidia GeForce G210 (works from SL to Sierra). GT610 is a suitable alternative and works from ML to ElCapitan.

That's what I did: boot/reboot set ioio delay x sleep/wake -> Restart it all with different delay. Freeze is not always systematic but happens most of the time.
-
'tried the ioio command, starting with 500; no difference, no TouchPad on wake. I then tried with 1000, put the laptop to sleep and it froze on wake. Same behaviour with the other delay values. What I do notice though is that the beachball briefly appears at wake, a few seconds before the freeze. NB: no tap clicking on the TouchPad.

Excellent and smooth and simultaneous 2-finger + 1-finger side scrolling with this revised Beta 2 version.

No problem. Wake issues affects all systems, yes. Rushmore and Pinnacle. Have no worries about duplicate kexts, it's not likely to happen with me. I'm not using Clover, only Enoch and all my add-on kexts go to a single place: /L/E.

E6430 Invalid Partion Table when trying to boot USB
Hervé replied to bmwe30es's topic in The Archive
Try re-installing the bootloader on that HDD partition. -
Only tested with Sierra so far. No trackstick on the Dell Latitude E6220 and E6230. There's one on the E6440 and I never use it but it appears non-functional. Regarding versions: E6220: V3 Pinnacle, id: E7=0x73 0x02 0x64, EC=0x88 0x07 0x9d E6230: V3 Rushmore, id: E7=0x73 0x03 0x0a, EC=0x88 0x08 0x1d E6440: V3 Rushmore, id: E7=0x73 0x03 0x0a, EC=0x88 0x08 0x22 Sierra Tests results: E6220: Ok, [] Ko, TouchPad lost on wake E6230: Ok, [] Ko, TouchPad lost on wake E6440: Ok, [] Ko, TouchPad lost on wake

Great news to be able to reuse that VoodooPS2Controller. Works perfectly (or near perfectly) with Sierra on my E6220/E6230/E6440 (need to test with EC). Thank you so much Dr Hurt. A few comments after a 5min(-only) use...: no TrackPad PrefPane (blank/empty window when clicking on the icon) 2-finger scrolling works great but no easy possibility to configure single-finger side scrolling ISO parameter might be misplaced. It is set to "true" in default Info.plist yet this does not allow to retrieve [] key to the left of [W] on French AZERTY keyboard like it used to (see here). I miss the practicality of good old version v1.8.9 that worked perfectly up to 10.11.6. PS: no VoodooPS2Mouse kext?

Mac OS X El capitan not booting after i installed a USB wifi adapter driver
Hervé replied to fwz.mhmd's topic in The Archive
Boot off your USB installer. -
Ok, so you have: Audio: ALC269 codec -> supported with the ALC269 AppleHDA patch. Look it up on Google. LAN: Realtek RTL8168 GigEthernet -> supported with the associated kext. Look it up on Google. For an alternative to your current wireless card, you can look at a non-exhaustive list of supported models here. You have a SandyBridge platform so support starts at SL10.6.8. You could in theory install Lion 10.7 or ML 10.8 but that will not change anything in terms of supported hardware. Stick to a recent version. I'd recommend you opt straight for Sierra 10.12, especially as it is the current version available off Apple's web site and, like all versions since Mavericks, it's free.

You can look at my E6440 guide re: HD4600 support. Basically, you need to: inject or fake desktop HD4600 id 0412 (because OS X does not support mobile version with id 0416) inject Azul layout-id 0x0a260006 install or inject Rehabman's FakePCIID + FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics kexts. Add FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio kext if you want/need HDMI audio too. HDMI audio will require the HDAU device in DSDT. I recommend that you patch your DSDT to inject HD4600 desktop id + layout-id and adjust HDEF+HDAU devices. All this is detailed in the E6440 guide. Injection can be done through Clover and I guess that's what you're using.

Those specs are compatible with all recent OS X versions from, say, Mavericks 10.9 to Sierra 10.12, except the Atheros AR9485 card which is unsupported and will have to be replaced. You'll have to identify the exact specs of your built-in audio + LAN before we can confirm compatibility with OS X but the answer is highly likely to be positive.

With a simple forum search on "ALC292"... https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/9234-e7440-alc292/?hl=alc292&do=findComment&comment=62496

Use macIASL posted by Rehabman on his repository.

Did you install the dummy kext for ALC292?

Error 77 -> your cache is not rebuilt properly. Redo the touch + kextcache commands or use the following alternative kextcache command: sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel ` Pop-up message about an external USB device would be normal after Sleep/Wake: power is cut off USB ports at Sleep, unless you opt for the option to retain power to USB when computer is asleep but that's usually limited to having the computer plugged to mains.

Please post a copy of your DSDT and advise on the SMBIOS profile you use. I'll try and patch your DSDT and create your USB_injector kext accordingly.
-
Updated for latest version of El Capitan and for Sierra after renewed tests. The module being USB internal, ensure your system does support all internal and external USB ports. Patch DSDT to rename EHCx device to EH0x devices and use a USB injector tuned to your SMBIOS profile & USB port numbers as/if required.
-
Ok, it's exactly as I thought: the problem is just linked to the new way of handling USB ports introduced with El Capitan. The WWAN module works again with the same patch as described in the guide, provided you adjust your installation to handle USB ports properly. I've just verified this in El Capitan 10.11.6 and Sierra 10.12 on my E6220. I had kept my DSDT with its original EHC1/EHC2 devices on the basis that all USB ports appeared to work Ok with MBP8,1 SMBIOS. However, if the external USB ports were Ok, it was not the same for the internal ones... On checking the IOReg, I found the WWAN module under port #6 of the 1st USB2.0 controller EHC1. As it happens, the MBP8,1 Mac model carries 4 ports on each EHCx controller as standard, whereas on my E6220, the DSDT shows 6 ports per USB2.0 controller. I therefore: patched my DSDT to rename the EHCx devices to EH0x installed a classic USB_injector kext in which I defined 6 ports for MBP8,1-EH01 and MBP8,1-EH02 USB2.0 controllers as per IOReg/DSDT info On reboot, the WWAN module was fully functional again.
-
It works the same in Sierra as in ElCapitan. Check your DSDT and audio patches.
-
Well... You injected the DSM method into RP05.PXSX instead of RP06.SDXC. No wonder it did not work... The attached correct version should fix everything. DSDT-patched_RV.aml.zip

Tried the WWAN module on 10.11.6. Indeed, there's a problem as the CellPhoneHelper kext does not load. I need to look into this. It must be a side effect of the changes Apple made with the handling of USB ports/devices since El Capitan.
