  1. it should be in the root of the os partition. /boot in the package it would be in the i386 folder also as boot. if you do not see it in root then it is hidden and you would need to show hidden files in terminal do defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE then a killall Finder that should show hidden files to revert it replace TRUE with FALSE and run the commands again.
  2. ahh migration assistent... ok yup i have had the same issue. it killed my hack booting also. i dont recall exactly but i thnik it has to do with re "blessing" the partition do a man bless in terminal for more info on the command.
  3. if you have wifi and bluetooth enabled in bios shut them off.
  4. usually model specific install media do not work. retail does however.
  5. hd4000 is very finicky you have to match your bios video ram to a known apple hd4000. plus it needs some dsdt edits. have you tried the latest release of chameleon? http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/chameleon/downloads/ you can replace your boot file with this newer version and try with the boot option of GraphicsEnabler=Yes at the boot prompt. i would add -v to that so you can follow the verbose output.
  6. what mode are you using extended or mirrored? also which bios version does your laptop have.
  7. have you tried the kernel patcher. dylib module that was released with chameleon official release? http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/chameleon/downloads/ it goes in the Extra/modules folder. you can also test with cpus=8 or whatever amount of cores you have in your rig.
  8. can you try running the wifi card on a different bus like the wwan port to see if it still has the issue? maybe it is an irq conflict.
  9. you sure your not developing a gpu issue? nvidia's look like that when there going bad. gma also gets the issue but not as much. maybe the load of driving a second monitor heats it just enough to loose contact.? just a thought.

    Hello

Welcome shane and thanks for the help. enjoy your stay.
  11. last night herve did extensive testing on this subject. it seems it has to do with the external monitor resolution also the Hz of the monitor has an effect on this. at 75Hz the monitor would respond correctly at certain resolutions. have you tried the detect monitor function in the prefpane.
  12. can you add this into your Extra/Modules folder and test it. it is the sata.dylib module from chameleon official release http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/chameleon/downloads/8/ Sata.zip
  13. well where are you stuck at pci configuration?
  14. probably a 4k sector drive. use the myhack chameleon installer. it usually fixes 4k sector drive issues
  15. do you have voodootscsync.kext in your extra folder? you need it. if you want to confirm boot with cpus=1 flag at chameleon prompt. also make sure you have the flag npci=0x2000. the long boots can be a kext in extra keeping the kernel cache from booting.
  16. well myhack will version bump the kexts in E/E then inject them into S/L/E for you. by version bumping the kexts they will load before the apple kexts in S/L/E. so technically you can keep your S/L/E stock vanilla.
  17. Hi and welcome to osxlatitude enjoy your stay.
  18. well it is always good to be safe. remember the the hdd also needs the extra folder since you will be booting off of it. and a myfix but it should automatically do that once it transfers the extra folder.
  19. the first partition that you installed chameleon on would be the one to reinstall it on. it wont work from other partitions.
  20. sounds like you did not get to point myhack to your Extra folder go back into the myhack installer and open the myhack utility install extra point it to the one on the usb.
  21. idk but if your doing a bunch of machines i would clone a successful install then modify the extra accordingly until you find a solution. i personally do not have one of those models to help further testing with you. but when i run across issues like that i will just clone a good install. the final object is achieved the same... a fresh OS.
  22. ok then put them on the usb extra then run myfix boot from the usb myhack installer go to the utilities menu run myhack from there select to transfer your usb extra tell it from existing instead of generic and point it at the usb Extra folder once it finishes reboot from the hdd. hopefully that will work for you
  23. if you can get those 2 kexts into Extra then in terminal you should able to do a myfix -t / that should rebuild myHack.kext.
