  2. hmm hard to say. i guess start with rebuilding your kernel cache.
  3. you can check this and maybe it helps. you have to read through the comments to get some info though https://pikeralpha.wordpress.com/2016/10/11/black-screen-tip-of-the-day/
  4. is sata mode set to AHCI in bios?
  5. is there any way to switch from ISO to ANSI seems OSX keeps defaulting to ISO format because device type is known even setting default part of plist to not use ISO. also US and BRITISH-PC keyboard's seem to be switched.
  6. you might have to replace the file in clover boot as well or you have more then 1 EFI partitions or folders. looks like something is going on in the last line in your pic. try booting recovery and repair your volume with disk utility.
  7. type in terminal sudo pmset hibernatemode 0
  8. if your clover version is 3942 update it.
  9. check bios and make sure bitlocker and or secure boot is not enabled.
  10. so try finishing the install without the dsdt /ssdt
  11. the hardware probably needs to be re initialized after sleep. on my machine i have a FN function to disable and enable the trackpad. when it becomes unresponsive i disable and reenable it and it comes back on line. but if the keyboard is not functioning that wont be possible
  12. have you tried with 3.1.5 version? make sure to remove any BT kexts you have added if you modified any original osx kexts restore them
  13. are you sure you did not format the HDD as MBR instead of guid partition scheme check with disk utility on the osx installer. also make sure yo dont have bitlocker enabled in bios.
  14. tluck has some pointers here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/285678-lenovo-thinkpad-t420-with-uefi-only/page-26
  15. you would have to mount the EFI partition to access it alHFS.efi not both. the clover not showing can be a config.plist edit set to not show. yo might want to set it to a few seconds.
  16. press F12 at bios prompt and see if you can select EFI as boot option.
  17. if it has dual GPUS intel/Nvidia yo probably need to disable one. sometimes using the NVIDIA causes your issues.
  18. if using clover kext folder try moving the kext to Library/Extensions folder and rebuild repair caches.
  19. are you using a dsdt or ssdt from another model laptop? try booting with cpus=1 option
  20. those last few lines look like its the ps2 trackpad initializing. try another version compatible with sierra. also what bios revision is the E6420 at? there are fixes for ahci detection at around a16. looks like a23 is latest one.
  21. i have never had to patch dsdt EC for fan so i would not know either. all i could find as a solution for it was https://github.com/hirschmann/nbfcmaybe it can be ported to osx
  22. hmm I think 2009 mbp had gpu issues one of the symptoms was going black or just rebooting sometimes it was a grey screen with stripes. hopefully thats not your case.
  23. what type of thermal issues are you having? cpu can be that it needs a proper SSDT generated for your cpu or you need new thermal compound or the fan needs servicing from dust. if its gpu it might need GPUPM tuning. or also needs fresh thermal paste/ cleaning or you need to specify a better smbios closer to your hardware.
