I have a E6500 CPU Penryn P9700 2.8 Ghz 4 GB RAM (2+2) 250 GB SATA HDD BIOS A29 (Latest), all settings default + SATA set to AHCI Nvidia NV160 256MB UXGA 1920x1200 DW1397 WiFi Bluetooth card installed Audio IDT 92HD71 I'm trying to Install High Sierra 10.13.6 on it and ... it doesn't work. Freshly downloaded Install macOS High Sierra.app Version 13.6.02 Using createinstallmedia + Clover r4920 (Clover guide, non-UEFI steps), it boots, HDD formats fine, Installer starts then it dies with "corrupted media" Using macOS High Sierra Patcher.app + Clover r4920 (another guide), it boots, HDD formats fine, Installer starts then it dies with "not compatible with this computer" Used various E6500 Bootpacks form all over - same result every time. startosinstall doesn't want to run either - cannot communicate with helper. Using the same Install macOS High Sierra.app image + Clover (Clover guide, UEFI) i have successfully installed a E6430 so the OS image is good. No idea what am i doing wrong - any advice is welcome. Thank you very much.

Hello, first of all I'm sorry if this kind of thread is not allowed but I'd like to keep a thread of discussion about El Capitan install on the Dell Latitude E6500. If it's not allowed, please lock/delete this thread. OK, let's get to the point. I have managed to boot the installer just fine, however I am not able to proceed with the installer as the installer only shows "Reinstall OS X" and not "Install OS X". As such, this has caused me to not be able to install the OS due to some "eligibility checking" mechanism. I never had this issue when installing Yosemite months ago. Has anyone ran into this problem? How do I fix this? Is it related to the installer that I used or did I do something wrong while making the installer? Thanks a lot and if you have any tips and pointers or anything to discuss about El Capitan for the E6500 please do so here. --- From here on, I will update my progress in this section. 20170319 1950 -- Installer now shows "Install OS X" instead of "Reinstall OS X" after following another guide to setup the USB installer. I will now proceed to with the installation. 20170319 2013 -- Still at "a second remaining". 20170319 2131 -- Finished with everything, including bootloader installation. El Capitan is buttery smooth. It's amazing.

Hey folks - I was wondering if anybody got a working App Store Yosemite 10.10 build to install using myhack on the E6500 and if so if they can post instructions? or using unifail for that matter? Anyone know what version of myhack supports it (or does any version support 10.10 as of right now)? I just got 10.9.5 to install and I am hoping to just be able to switch to 10.10 ....But that all depends on what the fine folks on this site which i rely on so much so can do !!!

Hello everyone, After the surprisingly huge success with El Capitan, I decided to give Sierra a try. This thread is dedicated to get at least the installer running on the Dell E6500. Thoughts, opinions and discussions are also very welcome. (1) Using dosdude1's Sierra Patch, the installer USB creation was a breeze. Without the patch, the installer won't even try to boot (incompatible Mac). http://dosdude1.com/sierrapatch.html (2) Installer USB loads fine. (3) NVDAStartup causes kernel panic when trying to boot into the installer. nvda_drv=1 nv_disable=1 InjectNvidia=false does not work. I am not sure why but Nvidia still try to load the driver when nv_disable=1 is already present. I will post my DSDT.aml, config.plist and kexts later (still using the same ones from El Capitan). That is all for now. Any pointers and tips are highly encouraged. Thank you.

Hello everyone I am really new to the hackintosh world but I love the idea of it. I have just received from a friend a dell e6500 that he no longer needed it doesnt have any OS on it currently. I would like to try and install el capitan on it but I really have no idea what I am doing. I was able to install snow leopard on a old dell 1525. So i have El Capitan downloaded. Could anyone please give me some instruction on what to do. I have tried a couple of times without success. All it does when trying to get to the installer is show the apple logo and the progress bar gets about half way then a prohibted symbol appears and it restarts my laptop. Thanks

Here it goes. I upgraded Yosemite to El Capitan GM. I replaced EHCI with EHC1 in DSDT.aml as I read, but still no USB. Any thoughts?

OK folks i have a nearly perfect osx 10.9.5 install. the only thing not working that i have found so far is my bluetooth. it says on it BCM92046 and M960G and shows as a USB device which is a Dell 370 but also shows as a bluetooth device: http://www.capital-remarketing.com/dell-latitude-e6500-bluetooth-wpan-wireless-card-m960g-p-409.html the problem is that the bluetooth on/off switches in the OS are greyed out and when i try to connect a device it forever tries to connect but never does., I am using the standard dell 1.2 bluetooth kext and it just isnt there. any suggestions, anyone who has had this problem or know what i need to do? i am thinking maybe i need to edit the info.plist or something like that? any help, i am at my wits end with this thing....its working but not quite working aaarrrggg?

i have been trying to get 10.9 onto my e6500 for days now without any luck. every time i end up with it telling me osx couldn't install and asking to view the log. this is before i even get into the installation right after it asks you to choose a language. normally i wouldnt start a new topic but i have looked everywhere and tried everything. i have tried with every option in my bios (A29) off and on and with -x -v pcirootuid=0,1 npci=0x2000,3000, -f, graphicsenabler=yes, and with various combinations of those tags (of course properly capitalized). anyone have any idea what i am doing wrong here? i used the current myhack download to install 10.9 onto USB and add the extra that is suggested on a page on this forum for building e6500's with mavericks. o yea and of course, after creating the usb installer a few days ago my other hackintosh crashed on me (gigabyte board with a Q6600 8gb PC6400, HD6850) and i havent had a chance to rebuild that install yet. so i have some experience with this stuff but this damn thing has me stumped... what bios is everyone else running too? as i said mine is A29. any ideas?? thanks yall e6500 A29 t9700 2.8ghz c2d 4gb nvidia nvs160m @ 1920x1200 currently running win7-64bit and ubuntu 14.04lts-64bit will install on a seperate hd i have tried also formatting my drives with Disk Utility to GUID with an HFS+ partition, and have tried MBR (the myhack install should have installed the mbr patch) but alas still no luck with either...

I successfully created a bootable USB with MyHack v3.3.1 and the extras for my e6500. The Dell correctly boots into the OSX setup for Mavericks, but does not see the internal HDD. Disk Utility runs, but also does not see the HDD. I have tried reformatting the HDD from a working Mac, both as exFAT with MBR and Mac Journaled with GUID. Makes no difference. What am I missing?

Okay so I want to install Snow Leopard on my e6500. I have the genuine snow leopard cd imaged to a thumb drive. I'm not sure what to do from here. The only thing I've hackintoshed in the past was a dell mini 9, which was a breeze. Thanks for your input!

Hello Everyone, I am kind of new to the whole hackintosh thing. I have been trying for some time to get one working on multiple systems primarily AMD based. Now though I have a acquired an e6500 and with the help of myHack and the boot backs from this site I have one working for the most part. I do have a few issues I could use some help with. My e6500 has the following issues... 1. no sound 2. no Bluetooth not hugely important to me but I would like to get it working 3. no battery indicator (however is running on battery). 4. When the system goes to sleep I have to manually power it down. 5. The MacOS detects my processor as a 1.52 dual core. However it is actually a 2.53. Interestingly enough I found in the bios the minimum processor speed is 1.52GHZ so it seem to be just running on that. I searched through several forums and found a couple resources but most the links to what I think might work do not seem to be working anymore. If any one has some instructions on what I need to do to get it working I would appreciate it greatly. Please keep in mind I am a very novice mac user, PC's have been my thing for some time so I know those in and out but not mac os. My E6500 BIOS: A18 Detected as a MacBook pro 5,5 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.52 (however in BIOS is a 2.53GHZ P8700) Audio: IDT 92HD71 (not working) Bluetooth: DW370 (not working) Battery: 9 Cell Extended Battery (no indicator, but works) Memory: 4GB Video: Quadro NVS160M (working) Wireless: Intel (replacing with DW1510 waiting on package from Ebay) Webcam: Integrated (Working) Storage: 2 250gb Hard Drives (Western Digital in Primary, Seagate in Modular Bay instead of DVDRW) (both working)
