  1. Did you try any version of VoodooHDA at all? Versions 2.7.x or v2.8.x ? My Dell Vostro 200 has built-in ALC888 (ICH9 controller with PCI id 8086:293e) and I get perfect audio with the VoodooHDA v2.8.1 that's was installed initially. Never changed it since. I would tend to believe the IM thread that mentions ALC1200 and would attempt the DSDT edit provided. If you don't know how to do it, just post your extracted raw DSDT (extract it with tools such as DSDTEditor or Chameleon Wizard, having booted without any DSDT file) and we'll look at it. Whilst you're at it, also post a saved output of IORegistryExplorer (again having booted without any DSDT file).
  2. @Neocisco: here's what you need (Chameleon boot plist + iMac9.1 SMBIOS plist): CW_plists.zip
  3. Yes, you just replace the /Extra of your USB installer with this one, then run myFix (quick). You can use this pack with Mavericks.
  4. Ok, that boot pack is wrong! Try the attached and let me know. Extra_D830_NV140M.zip All you need to add is some audio kext (you can use VoodooHDA + HDADisabler kexts) and any eventual wifi kexts that may be required.
  5. Doesn't an lspci -nn Terminal command show you the built-in audio device?
  6. For the boot pack, just run myHack->Install Extra and point to the downloaded pack from this site. That should suffice for you to boot Mavericks.
  7. Ok, this seems to be an nVidia model, right? Are you sure you're using a myHack installer with our D830 nVidia boot pack?
  8. For the vanilla method, use myHack v3.3.1 + downloaded Mavericks installation application. Once you've made your installer, you simply replace the vanilla kernel (file called mach_kernel at root of media, USB installer or HDD) by one of the AMD kernels provided by Bronya (keep a backup of the original vanilla kernel - rename it vanilla_kernel for instance). You'll find them at InsanelyMac for download and I have also copied them to my Dell Precision 670 guide. Bronya published a new 10.9.4 AMD kernel yesterday and, whilst of works very well, it retains a few small bugs affecting graphics.
  9. Use the boot pack provided by this site. It has all the necessary minimum set of files to get your basic installation going (in particular the patched DSDT file). Once you have that done, we'll help you finalise the installation with EDP or a direct complete /Extra pack if EDP proves problematic.
  10. See post #11. Niresh is a distro. If you wish support for that, they have their own web site. We only support vanilla installation methods. Try myHack with an AMD kernel;
  11. Hi, please tell us the method you used to install Mavericks and the files you've used as a boot pack if applicable.
  12. Or a quick look in driver's details in Windows to obtain PCI ids could be a good way to identify vendor and product model.
  13. 1600x900 is not an issue for OS X. That's what I have on a Latitude E6420 (and many others on other laptops) and it works perfectly. Did you try the DualLink Chameleon boot option as suggested? It's usually required for resolution beyond 1366x768.
  14. I would have thought those ports to work OOB, a bit like Firewire ports...
  15. Yes, it's been hidden by its author, pending completion.
  16. That old entry-level Quadro FX1400 card is unsupported under any recent OS X versions. It's based on NV41 GPU, i.e. same chip as good old GeForce 6 Series (like GeForce 6800 card). Never got mine to work in Snow Leopard; got neither QE, nor CI… Still, that was before I found out about my default PCI root set to 4. So you could try to patch the kexts mentioned in the following post and ensure you boot with the correct PCI root value, but don't have much hope... https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2061-dell-precision-470-670-workstation-snow-leopardlionmountain-lionmavericks/&do=findComment&comment=15851 Whilst the card could possibly work in SL (http://www.infinitemac.com/discussion/4385/list-of-nvidia-gpus-supported-in-snow-leopard-10-6-1/p1), I think Lion dropped support and you can definitely forget about it beyond (ML, Mav, etc.) since these OS X versions no longer include NV40 support. As such, with Mavericks, you will have to replace it with a known supported (nVidia) card and there are plenty!
  17. Of course you NEVER remove any kexts previously placed in /E/E when you add a new one! If you do, myFix will remove them all from /S/L/E/myHack.kext and you'll kill your Hackintosh! You need to understand what you do, that's why I keep telling you to read up documentation.
  18. I don't understand what you're talking about, sorry.
  19. -f is not necessarily required on 1st boot. A myHack installation does rebuild permissions and cache... Everytime you add a kext to /E/E, you subsequently "install" it through myFix (quick) and reboot. That's it, that's all. You'll find documentation about myHack in the corresponding section of the forum.
  20. Can you please post your /Extra folder? Personally, I've had no issue on any of my Latitude D or E Series, nor even on my desktops. Can't see why it would be different with your M4400. it's always worked OOB on those systems without any specific actions (except a DSDT patch maybe) NB: Wake from keyboard or mouse has never been feasible on any Dell laptops I've hackinstoshed (I've done a few by now). This is more a desktop feature, configurable in BIOS.
  21. Did you install EDP immediately followed by an EDP build for your system or did you just install the EDP package? The build is required before any reboot or your /Extra will be totally messed up... PS: I vouch for my above Extra for a 10.6.8 installation on D620 GMA950 LoRes with BIOS A10 configured as per dedicated forum thread. Your KP might be due to something wrong in /S/L/E.
  22. Did you just install the VoodooHDA kext or did you add the AppleHDADisabler kext too; these 2 go in pair, or Voodoo clashes with AppleHDA, so it's undoubtedly the reason for your KP. No need to re-install -> read our article on removing kexts when KP at boot time!
  23. When you want to install kexts, you have to rebuild permissions and cache. Vanilla kexts are located in /S/L/E. However, myHack makes use of /E/E and combines kexts placed there with those from /S/L/E, rebuilds permissions and cache. This is done with the myFix utility of myHack. As such, place your kexts in /E/E and run myFix (quick). You got wifi to work with "-f" bootflag because that bypasses kernel cache. Once you rebuild it with myHack, you won't need that flag again and boot time will be shorter too.
  24. If you search a little on this forum, you'll find your answer. All pointers were given to you in post #14...
  25. The card just needs to be detected, recognised and installed in Network Pref Pane as 1st LAN interface en0 for AppStore to work. It does not have to actually work. There are plenty of similar cases in the Hackintosh world (like I have on my Precision 670 with its old Intel Pro 1000/MT LAN card). There is a Yukon kext (driver) for slightly different LAN interface models, I suggest you patch it and try it.
