  1. Look for Authentec TrueSuite v5.5.0.5. That should sort you out on the finger scanner side.
  2. Using Chameleon Wizard, change your D420 profile from whatever it is right now to the profile of a MacBookPro5,1... It's done through the SMBIOS tab. When you try to download Mac OS X installer app from AppStore, Apple look at your system profile. If it does not match the minimum requirements for the desired OS, download will be refused. Basically, Apple considers you're trying to download the OS for the machine in use and it's their way to ensure that only compatible targets can download the OS.
  3. If Apple web site does not let you download Lion from your D420, it's because its current model profile does not match the Lion minimum requirements; but that is just cosmetic: change your D420 SMBIOS plist to that of a MBP5,1 for instance, and you'll be able to download Lion or even ML...
  4. Set your Chameleon boot plist for Quiet Boot and you'll boot straight into the default or specified target partition:
  5. If you're building your Hack with myHack, don't use kext wizard! I don't believe the 2 cohabit well. Just place all your kexts in /E/E and do a myFix (full). That takes care of permissions + cache. If you install VoodooHDA, you should always install AppleHDAdisabler. EDP does that if you install VoodooHDA through it... You should always try to leave /S/L/E intact to retain a fully Vanilla install, i.e. avoid deleting stuff provided as standard by Apple. myHack + EDP do that and, as such, are among the best tools out there.
  6. No, it's an installer issue; something's wrong with it.
  7. Finger scanner may not actually need a kext, well if it's listed under USB section, it may not. You will however need a soft to use configure your system to use it as a replacement of passwords...
  8. From Mac OS X, format FAT your target Win7 partition. You should then be able to install Win7 on it (the Win7 installer will reformat it NTFS). PS: please no double post on the same matter in other sections...
  9. I'm sure I used the Voodoo provided with EDP5 (when we tested and fixed EDP5 for SL on my D420) and I had no issue with sleep or wake. I'm currently using VoodooHDA 2.8.1 on my D430 under SL/L/ML + AppleHDADisabler and all is Ok.
  10. myHack 3.1.2 is just fine, no problem there... Your hardware appears detected and recognised Ok... Did you format your HDD "Mac OS X Extended (Journaled)" in Disk Utility? You said you downloaded Lion... Was that a proper retail version?
  11. Ever tried the 64bit option for the cache? -> sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel arch=x86_64
  12. Yup, now just proceed with EDP System Build. It'll set your Chameleon boot plist to boot kernel in 32bit mode, so everything will be Ok.
  13. 1st get your system boot ML 10.8.4 or 10.8.5, then you can worry about audio... Don't do things backwards.
  14. Well... VoodooHDA makes your system crash... remove the kext and see how it goes.
  15. UniB*** has its own web site if you want to discuss it or get support for installations based on it. It's not compatible with our method. You cannot use EDP unless you have a myHack installation, it uses myFix to handle kexts... As such, do not be surprised it caused havoc and that you encountered KP. To use the E6220 EDP system build, the above pre-requisite prevails. A good way to compare the specs between the 2 systems (XT3 and E6220) would be to lookup the specs published in the online user manuals on Dell's support web site.
  16. I've had that in the past; it was my USB installer. Afer making a new one, all was Ok.
  17. Come on! Ever noticed the "More Reply options" button?
  18. 10.8.3 is perfectly Ok, as long as it's a retail version.
  19. Actually, copy the attached Chameleon boot file to the root of your Lion partition, that will sort you out. Overwrite the existing file. Cham_boot_v2251.zip
  20. Mmm, 'just realised the BCM5751 kext is 32bit only, so if you're still booting with option x86_64, you won't have Ethernet, true. I take it you've been unable to install Chameleon Wizard and update to Chameleon v2248 or above, right? Try and boot off your myHack USB installer, then interrupt Chameleon and select your Lion HDD partition to boot Lion. If that fails, I'll send you the Chameleon boot file to copy to the HDD root.
  21. Good, then as long as you have the AppleBCM5751Ethernet kext in /Extra/Extensions (i.e. you've used the D820 bootpack), the Ethernet port should work. PS: By now, you should also know what to do with that Intel wireless card...
  22. No Ethernet? Mmm, that is one of the essentials covered by the boot pack (unlike wireless which depends on the specific card...) and I've just verified that SL + Lion D820 boot packs do contain the BCM5751 kext. All is Ok on that front. Don't you see the card in the Network Preferences Panel at all, even if you try to add an interface? Can you post the output of the Terminal command lspci -nn and list the kexts you have in /Extra/Extensions?
  23. Yes, sounds like installation is a bit screwed then...
  24. v0.2.1? That must be quite old. I briefly had a D420 earlier this year (on which I put SL 10.6.8) and noticed no issue with VoodooHDA v2.7.x or 2.8.x, I can't remember which one it was exactly. Probably the 2.7.2/2.7.3 and or 2.8.1/2.8.2 we have in EDP.
  25. Having installed Mac OS X, now is the time for the EDP System Build.
