upload your config.plist

Means your graphics is not loading. How did you get to steps 14 and 15 if you haven't even install to the HDD yet? Please follow guide carefully.
-
Use my updated DSDT and skip the kexts from 14 & 15, but make sure to install this as well.

MyHack won't work with Yosemite. Try my guide. Bootpack on post #3 of the guide.

Sorry, I just noticed that you have 10.10.1 from your first post. Undo the fixes and redo them after you upgrade to 10.10.3. This is a good reason to have you system specs on your signature. Easier to see than having to read through the whole thread.

E7240 has HD4400, not HD4000. See bootpack here. E7x40...
-
See Herve's guide here. Confirmed to work!
-
Did you add the code to the proper location? If not, it could corrupt your config file, which no longer loads, which could stop your system from booting correctly.

1) ?? Keyboard function for what? 2) In the BIOS, General->Boot Sequence, change Boot List Options from Legacy to UEFI. You must have your USB plugged in to continue with this step Click Add Boot Option and enter in /EFI/Boot/Boot64x.efi, select it and move it to the top, apply and exit

3. Copy Config.plist to /EFI/CLOVER Copy Bootpack Extra folder to...? to Clover or Installer partition? What should i do with 10.10.3 update files from bootpack post? Rename nullCPUPowerManagement.kext.bak to normal kext when and where? First download the bootpack, then update it with the 10.10.3 updates replacing any of the old files. NullCPUPowermanagement.kext is not needed, you can delete the as Clover has that automatically patch Bootpack is meant for Chameleon, to adjust it to Clover, do the following: DSDT/SSDT goes to /EFI/Clover/ACPI/Patched The kexts in /Extensions goes to /EFI/Clover/Kexts/10.10 The kexts in /Extensions/SLE needs to be installed to /System/Library/Extensions with a kext utility like kextwizard (do this step after you have installed to your HDD, not on the Installer.) Your should learn about Clover and Chameleon and the differences between them and how they work differently, otherwise all these instructions would be hard to follow.

Sure you can go the easy route with Niresh, but you won't know what was done on it. You might fail on an update later on and end up starting all over. So not why do it right the first time and knowing how to fix it if anything goes wrong. You could skip step 6 and 14 if prefer, all files are in the bootpack link mentioned by Artur96 above.

Clover has patch on the fly for Haswell kernel. Just need KernelPM enabled which I assume is since you don't have the auto-reboot loop issue.
-
You can use the exact same process for Mavericks if you plan on upgrading.
-
Does the system has Nvidia or Intel GPU? If Intel, you won't get any graphics acceleration as it's not supported.

You could keep the voodoops2Controller in efi/clover/kexts/10.10, no need to be placed in S/L/E. Daemon and org.rehabman.voodoo are not needed for the kext to work.

"Extra" Folder for M4600 Setup for OS X Mavericks Setup

Reason could be that your Nvidia is not supported. thanhphongasd has Quadro 1000M.- 20 replies

Try running myHack/myfix again to repair cache, see if that fixes the problem. If you want to try without optimus, there's no need to reinstall. Just replace the DSDT.aml with bootpack here. And change BIOS to disable Optimus. You'll lose sleep/wake capability with this config and will need to hard shutdown. You could try caffeine.app to keep system from sleeping.
-
See here. You don't need to patch Haswell kernel since you're using Clover. You just need KernelPM enabled in config.plist.
-
Yes, when you see the Clover, hit space bar and select "...without cache".

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix shutdown problem on 3542?

Thanks to JVital2013 from another forum. He found that updating the ME firmware fixes the issue. http://www.win-raid.com/t596f39-Intel-Management-Engine-Drivers-Firmware-amp-System-Tools.html quoting vbo -
Yes, you can use Herve's bootpack, but replace DSDT with the one I sent you via PM.
-
See here

Yes, go vanilla as distro might have removed some much needed kexts. Either Mavericks or Yosemite is fine, although for Yosemite, you'll need additional patches to get QE/CI with HD 4600. Either version, it's all documented in Herve's guide.
-
Check your BIOS, under general, it should list your display max resolution. Should be either 1366x768, 1600x900 or 1920x1080
-
Herve's right, I overlook that you're still on Mavericks and not Yosemite.
