[SOLVED] Inspiron 15r: HDMI is recognized as DVI (without audio)
Jake Lo replied to webmontes's topic in The Archive
Try this, place it in Clover/ACPI/Patched. SSDT-1.aml.zip -
Yes! What issue are you having?
-
I think in this model, it's call Switchable Graphics. AMD 4000m is not supported so you'll need to use HD4000. A DSDT can disable the AMD, but you need to have Switchable Graphics Enabled. Can you export all the SSDT/DSDT? Need to check the SSDT that has the info to disable the AMD graphics.

[SOLVED] Inspiron 15r: HDMI is recognized as DVI (without audio)
Jake Lo replied to webmontes's topic in The Archive
You need the SSDT that has device B0D3 in it. That needs to be patch and added to enable HDMI audio. So your internal speaker and headphone is working? -
If you have to go with the models with Nvidia, then go with the E6420's. There's a beta DSDT out there by Wern that allows sleep with nvidia, but not for the E6430. The Quadcore model is nice to have but that also depends on what you use it for. Be warn that battery life will not be very good with the nvidia as it's a power hogger. There is a DSDT to disable the nvidia card and use only the Intel HD3000, but you'll lose the capability to connect to an external monitor through HDMI. So it all comes down to what's your need.

Can you list your system's specs? CPU IGPU display resolution Can the AMD display be turned off?
-
It all depends on the specs. Both are good hackintoshes. Preferably without optimus, those are harder to get sleep working. Without optimus, with just Intel HD3000/HD4000, both able to sleep and HDMI works. I prefer the higher display resolution if you could find out with a good price.

VGA port is not supported. Please use the Displayport on your system.

Here you go. nareto.zip -
If it's the same as post #8, then try booting with -v -f -no-zp otherwise I need more info. Post the entire screen.

Try installing attach AppleHDA to /S/L/E, make a backup of the original if you like. For sleep, try enabling Asus AICPUPM in your config.plist. Remove BCM5722D, NullCPUPowerManagement, HDAEnabler, SleepEnabler and Patched_10.7_AppleRTC from Kexts/10.10 AppleHDA.kext.zip

Compress the 2 files, select More Reply Options. Choose files and attach -
If you're using the USB ports in the back, make sure to use the 2 on top. Those are USB 2.0 ports.
-
On the front of the chassis, there are 4 USB ports. 2 on the left are USB 3.0 (SuperSpeed), the 2 on the right are USB 2.0.

just tested the bootpack with 10.10.3, no issue. Make sure to use the correct patched Kernel if you're installing 10.10.3. Can't use patched kernel from 10.10.2 or older. If you have an external video card, you'll need to remove that. In the BIOS, set all to default, apply and then set SATA Operations to AHCI. Also boot on the USB 2.0 port, not USB 3.0, you'll get a better chance of success.

Sounds like your graphics is not loading. Can you boot with the USB installer and select your HDD in normal mode?
-
You got a lot of stuff in the kexts folder but might not be needed. Please list your devices User DPCIManager.app. Get a screenshot of the PCI list.

Ahh, good to include that info. Extra will not be use in Clover. Upload you Clover folder instead and any patched kext you have installed to /S/L/E
-
You need to install the patched AppleHDA to /S/L/E with kextwizard or kextutility, it won't load from /E/E If it's still won't work, please upload you /Extra folder
-
Remove AppleACPIPlatform, you should get sound. I see you have a patched AppleHDA already. Do you have a DSDT? If not, try this one here.

There's issue with hanging when BiOS is set to UEFI for the E7x50 and resort to legacy for now until there's further development. Here's my current config, DSDT, and SSDT you could try. Make sure to use latest Clover, I believe is 3193. Older version causes keyboard to repeat 8x for each character you enter. For the wireless, you'll need an NGFF M.2 card that's supported. BCM94352HMB will not fit in this model. E7x50_Clover.zip

I don't think the Nvidia is supported in OS X, so use the DSDT provided here. In the BIOS, set Sata Operations to AHCI and have Switchable Graphics enable. Boot the installer through the eSATA/USB combo port, you'll get a better chance of success.

As noted in the guide, your system has a Haswell CPU. Make sure to replace it in /system/library/kernels/kernel with the patched kernel.
