Azurewave AW-CE123H not recognized in Catalina
Jake Lo replied to MarOS's topic in Wireless & Bluetooth
AzureWave AW-CE123H is the same as the DW1550 which Catalina has dropped support. You need to replace 2 kexts from Mojave: IO80211Family.kext & IO80211FamilyV2.kext -
Hi @Jeepey 1) No, any BIOS version is fine. Just remove the DSDT.aml from the files in the tutorial. 2) Yes, but you need to make sure the EFI partition is at least 200MB. MacOS requires 200MB, Windows by default is 100MB I believe. You'll need to figure out how to do that with google. Make sure your drive is currently formatted to GUID. Yes Windows can run on GUID. 3) If you do it correctly, you won't lose any data, but always a good idea to backup 1st. 4) Usually best to create installer from a real Mac or Hackintosh, VM is less reliable but some had succeeded without issue. So you can try and see.

First of all, welcome to OSXL! Can you try booting with verbose + debug 0x100 mode by pressing the space bar at Clover GUI and selecting them? Post the error message you get Post the Clover files you're using for the installer or link to where you got it so we can review if your files are correct. Make sure you also have the BIOS setting set correctly, mainly you need the following: Secure boot Disable Enable UEFI Enable AHCI

You can try blocking all VoodooPS2Controller during boot and have an USB keyboard/mouse handy.

Step 2 is not necessary in my case. I have E7270 with DW1820a running perfectly fine without it.

Latitude 7490: no macOS partition in Clover Boot Manager
Jake Lo replied to Tubardus's topic in The Archive
No, can't explain how HFSPlus.efi would disappear. I have 10.15.5 running perfectly fine with HFSPlus.efi. Check your root drive for EFI-Backups. See when's the last time HFSPlus.efi is in your drivers/UEFI folder when you upgrade Clover. -
E5470 with i5 6440HQ + HD 530 + Full HD screen: seeking EFI for Catalina
Jake Lo replied to PMD's topic in The Archive
I had tried combining ApplePS2 trackpad.kext with VoodooPS2's keyboard.kext, but unfortunately not working. Seems it's dependent on the other kexts. -
Latitude 7490: no macOS partition in Clover Boot Manager
Jake Lo replied to Tubardus's topic in The Archive
If you have VboxHfs.efi, it'll do the same unless you also have it disabled in the Config file, then you'll need HFSPlus.efi Either try booting with a working USB drive with all the files needed or mount the EFI partition from Windows if you're dual booting and add the files. -
Ok, try this, replace your SSDT-4x0G4k.aml with that attached. Leave the other SSDT*.aml as is Then add VoodooI2C + VoodooI2CHID to kexts/Other SSDT-4x0-G5.aml.zip

Are you sure? It's either \_SB.PCI0.I2C1.TPD1 or \_SB.PCI0.I2C0.TPD0. Never seem \_SB.PCI0.I2C1.TPD0

Check the FAQ for Catalina requirement. Your kexts are out dated. IntelGraphicsDVMTFixup.kext is now part of Whatevergreen + Lilu.kext, replace with them. Update to latest Clover

E5470 with i5 6440HQ + HD 530 + Full HD screen: seeking EFI for Catalina
Jake Lo replied to PMD's topic in The Archive
You can disable Legacy Option ROMs in the BIOS. Not needed unless you need it for Windows. To upgrade, after the 1st reboot, at the Clover GUI, you should see a new boot option that reads "install macOS from Catalina - Data" where Catalina is the name of your drive. Select that if it reboots again until that option is gone. -

Latitude 3350: struggling to install Catalina
Jake Lo replied to theawesomerb's topic in The Archive
Enable DellSMBIOsPatch in Config file under kernel and kext patches to fix the truncated name Try replacing the voodoops2 from Hervé E7250 guide, it might have the fingerZ value modified to smoother movement. If not, look at instructions how to modify the FingerZ. Should be a bunch of guide here already talked about it. Last resort, replace VoodooPS2 with ApplePS2Controller found in my E7470 bootpack, you can find it in my signature file. Only issue with that is you'll have to tap twice to enable CAPS and twice to disable, or Thrice to enable and once to disable. For audio, add CodecCommander.kext in kexts/Other/CopyToLE to /Library/extensions. Repair permissions and rebuild cache. You can use Hackintool.app under Utilities to do it. If still not working, try changing layout-id. You currently have 17 under devices, . Try the following, reboot after each change to see which works better. 3, 13, 20, 86 -

Dell 5570: HDMI black screen and can't control HDMI audio
Jake Lo replied to am303737's topic in The Archive
1) What's the resolution of your external TV, if it's 4K, you might have to increase the DVMT 2) That's how MacOS work, you don't control volume from the system for HDMI audio, you control it from the external display. However that is an app call MonitorControl that might work. 3) The graphics card reading 2048MB I believe is just cosmetics, that can be changed in the Config file easily.- 6 replies

Latitude 3350: struggling to install Catalina
Jake Lo replied to theawesomerb's topic in The Archive
IOREg file not exported, run this, save, compress and attach it Your mouse it most likely and Alps as does most Dell Latitude, only Inspiron and Precision have Synaptics touchpad. Create a folder in kexts/Other call it Off, place the current VoodooPS2 there, then place VoodooPS2ControllerR6 in kexts/Other. If it won't boot, you can disable it during boot and enable the old Voodoo. -

Jake Lo replied to theawesomerb's topic in The Archive
Yes, for Catalina you need to disable the extra protection. See FAQ https://osxlatitude.com/forums/topic/12385-how-do-i-unlock-catalinas-protected-file-system/ 4GB of ram in today's standard is consider low. Need minimum of 8GB / 16 is better. -

DSDT/SSDT is wrong for your system which is causing your issue. Also get rid of AppleACPIPlatform.kext. Boot to Clover, press F4. Continue booting to OS X. Mount EFI partition Compress and attach /EFI/Clover/Origin folder here for patching. What version of BIOS are you running? -

Which Config file are you using to boot now? I see Config3 is from my files. What wifi device does it have? We are not mind reader...we need detailed information. Intel wifi are not supported yet, so you'll need to replace it with a compatible device...ie DW1560, DW1830 or DW1820a. Avoid Atheros model. For mouse, replace the voodooPs2Controller with the version from my files and see if it make a difference. If it still doesn't work, you'll need the Alps version. You should be able to safely remove these kexts as well: You should understand what each kext is use for, remove unnecessary kexts AtherosE2200Ethernet //Atheros ethernet LucyRTL8125Ethernet //Realtek Ethernet SmallTreeIntel82576 //Intel Ethernet IntelMausiEthernet //Intel Ethernet NoTouchID // for model with TouchID to disable it NullCPUPowerManagement //disables powermanagement, mainly used for desktop system RealtekRTL8100 //realtek Ethernet XHCI-unsupported //Sata controller Add from my files the following kexts: AppleALC //needed for audio SMCBatteryManager //needed for battery status SystemProfilerMemoryFixup //add the Memory tab for About this Mac (Optional) -
