"an error occurred while extracting files from the package essentials.pkg" that has to do with the way the installer was made. you might be missing something on it. remake the installer.

you can get a dell latitude d430 for peanuts on ebay.but it's equivelent would be a mackbook air first gen. even has the weird ziff pata hdd.

œ ∑ yup same here. but the option key should do that. if i press the alt key instead of the windows key with q it quits the app.
-
it could be your choice of ps2 kext. i had similar issues with ~ key i think maybe the coder coded the kext to there language preferences idk.

Bronxteck replied to howoarang's topic in The Archive
if you hit F1 at the clover prompt it will give you a list of options. dumping your ACPI tables is one of them. -
yeh it really is surprising that for the age of those machines they are still very capable. there even nicer with the high resolution screen. and welcome to OSXL.

yes iMessage is a common non-funtioning issue. -
it goes back together the same way you take it out. it's not too hard... dell made the latitude line with quick field serviceability in mind. unlike other laptops i dreaded working on in the past. hint Apple!!!

in clover configurator app or clover installer app they have option to install clover drivers. you might have to experiment with some of the vbox and or grub ones.
-
probably one of the patches being applied to the dsdt is causing the issue. you might have to patch then test the dsdt till you find the patch thats affecting trackpad. you also need to find out who makes the trackpad and find the kext that suits that manufacturer. the trackpad might be seen as a mouse not a trackpad in osx. which might be why it "works" if you save both the patched DSDT.aml and the stock one as a DSDT.dsl you can run them through a text compare tool to see the differences.

have you used the same OS X installer on those machines? there must be a common thread tying your problem.

/System/Library/Kernels/kernel missing entirely?
Bronxteck replied to iindigo's topic in The Archive
no i think you have to manually put one there. only after an install is it in that location. sorta "cache 22" i can post mine for you to try with. kernel.zip -
yeah that is weird as i have seen that model boot from display port. that was with a ivy i7 3770 cpu with HD4000 and no graphics card in the graphics slot. but that was the ultra small form factor version of the desktop.
-
if i remember you might have to shut off BT if you have it and if you have intel wifi also shut it off in bios.
-
you can run nullcpu.kext to get past that. double check your SSDT tables.
-
try changing /key> to /key> and see if it helps the usb if not you might need DSDT edits and or genericusb3.kext <key>FixOwnership< /key><false/> <key>Inject</key> <false/>

well now that you can get it working maybe partition the disk and clone the working os to it as a failsafe since you do not have acess to a mac then you can experiment with one partition but if the shit hits the fan you can boot back into a working os to do some shoveling
