Kexts are like underwear or condoms: you only need one! Either in /S/L/E or -preferably- in /L/E... Or Clover's kexts folder if you opt for kext injection.

Compatible mini-PCIe WIFI card with MHF4 / IPEX4 connectors?
Hervé replied to osxosx's topic in Wireless and Bluetooth
On double checking, that card is indeed fitted with 3 x MHF4 connectors, so it's not something reserved to NGFF cards. http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/azurewave-aw-cb160h-3x3-3-wireless-ac-in-a-non-apple-laptop.777878/ That could be your perfect card as it's an 802.11ac 1300Mbps card based on BCM4360 chip, i.e. supported OOB under OS X/macOS. -
I don't believe I stated that removing those unnecessary kexts would resolve the shutdown issue. That's likely to be a DSDT or Clover config issue. Try this revised Clover config. config.plist.zip

Compatible mini-PCIe WIFI card with MHF4 / IPEX4 connectors?
Hervé replied to osxosx's topic in Wireless and Bluetooth
Afaik, only NGFF/M.2 wireless cards are fitted with 1.5mm MHF4 connectors, mini-PCIe models normally have the bigger 2mm connectors. If you want to hook up a mini-PCIe WLAN card to MHF4 antennas, you probably need to look for cable adaptors. -
Your system will run perfectly Ok with High Sierra's vanilla version.

Your IOReg shows a JMicron JMC250 GigEthernet controller attached to GLAN device @0,5 under parent device RP06@1C,5. Unlike your Broadcom BCM4352, I'm not sure that JMicron card is actually supported under OS X/macOS. There was an attempted driver several years ago; you may want to give it a try: https://github.com/ghostec/jmc250 https://www.osx86.net/files/file/934-j-micron-jmc250-ethernet/ (64bit-only kext) Regarding battery, you have no driver to monitor its status so download and install Rehabman's latest ACPIBatteryManager kext. On another note, you should remove the following add-on kexts from your Clover kexts folder: Snow Leopard 10.6.7's AppleAPCIPlatform v1.3.5; it's totally unnecessary (was only required in Lion and ML). NullCPUPowerManagement; you want vanilla CPU power management with P States and C States generation in your Clover config (which you have); you may also remove those CPU PM related SSDT drops...

You can look up JakeLo's guide for Latitude/Precision/Inspiron in the Guides section. Re: card reader, it should work OOB once you apply the necessary little DSDT patch. Details are posted in the R&D->Hardware->SD Card Reader section.

From a fresh USB installer for sure. From AppStore, you need Clover.

I've finally re-compiled Ethernet BCM5722D kext v2.3.6 in fat-binary mode, i.e. combined 32 and 64bit modes (was previously only available as 64bit version). Tested Ok on D630 (and D830) from Snow Leopard 10.6 to High Sierra 10.13. Works perfectly. BCM5722D.kext.zip More info at InsanelyMac: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/79-bcm5722d/ http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/247470-bcm5722-bcm5754m-bcm5755m-bcm5787m-and-bcm5906m-nic-driver-3264-bit/

Generate your CPU-specific power management SSDT as suggested. You will then gain full CPU SpeedStepping + Turbo boost (if applicable). Select KernelPm in your Clover config to patch the kernel for CPU power management That's all.

Try your initial installation with NullCPUPowerManagement. You can then look at CPU PM in a post-installation phase. -
Inspiron 15 7548: issues post High Sierra supplement update (10.13.2 17C205)
Hervé replied to bonejoev's topic in The Archive
CoreStorage is not enabled on your disk, so you obviously can't revert anything! -
Inspiron 15 7548: issues post High Sierra supplement update (10.13.2 17C205)

Clover will boot the "install macOS on ..." partition, not Enoch. This is due to CoreStorage as stated above by JakeLo, You have to revert partitions to legacy mode and -probably- rebuild your cache. -

E7450 High Sierra: usb port not working, screen luminosity issue
Hervé replied to paulcrr's topic in The Archive
Pike R Alpha's script is used to generate the necessary CPU power management SSDT for your CPU. Without the generated table, you will not gain proper CPU SpeedStep and Turbo boost. May be you can tell us how you obtained, setup and ran the script. Pike's GitHub repo is properly documented in terms of script setup and execution so, one can't normally go wrong if instructions are followed to the letter... Re: USB ports, do you use the USB injector kext ? Do you have USB2.0 and USB3.0 onr only USB3.0. If they're all USB3.0, you may also need to install FakePCIID_XhCI_Mux to support USB2/USB3 multiplexing on your ports. -
E7440: Problems with graphic after install High Sierra
Hervé replied to XirurG's topic in The Archive
Don't confuse Ivy Bridge integrated graphics HD4000 with Haswell integrated graphics HD4400/4600/etc. Although some general principles apply to all generations of framebuffers (eg: framebuffers indexes, connector types), HD4000 stuff is irrelevant and not applicable to Haswell platforms. It's critical to understand that despite an apparent (but incorrect) link in terms of numbers (4 thousands), these are different generations of integrated graphics. JakeLo gave you a link to my Haswell graphics patching guide in post #2 and the guide clearly states limitations encountered from Sierra 10.12.3 and these are also stated in post #3. Not much I can add, I'm afraid... Something changed in the Azul framebuffer (or elsewhere) after early versions of Sierra and this no longer supports multiple displays with DVI output. HDMI and DP remain Ok though. -
D830 with C2D + nVidia Quadro NVS 135M: no wifi under Sierra
Hervé replied to LunaOsx420's topic in The Archive
BCM4312 is one of those cards no longer supported; there is no workaround. It's not a matter of (re)branding, there are no drivers for those Brooadcom chips and older drivers do not work under Sierra. -
Quite possible if you have an Alps v8 or similar.

You could start here... https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/forum/161-faqs-tutorials/ Regarding audio, try installing CodecCommander kext or EAPDFix (but not both at the same time). Re: Touchpad, not much we can do until you identify the model (e.g.: ALPS, Elan, Synaptics, I2C)
