  1. Hello People, Recently I bought a Dell e6430 (i5 3rd Gen) and I am not kinda expert in any other OS except windows. I just want to ask that If i install any version of other OS so which BIOS would be good? I have A17 right now and the latest is A22. I just want to ask that if anybody have tried that BIOS, is it stable so that I can install?
  2. Hello everyone, After the surprisingly huge success with El Capitan, I decided to give Sierra a try. This thread is dedicated to get at least the installer running on the Dell E6500. Thoughts, opinions and discussions are also very welcome. (1) Using dosdude1's Sierra Patch, the installer USB creation was a breeze. Without the patch, the installer won't even try to boot (incompatible Mac). http://dosdude1.com/sierrapatch.html (2) Installer USB loads fine. (3) NVDAStartup causes kernel panic when trying to boot into the installer. nvda_drv=1 nv_disable=1 InjectNvidia=false does not work. I am not sure why but Nvidia still try to load the driver when nv_disable=1 is already present. I will post my DSDT.aml, config.plist and kexts later (still using the same ones from El Capitan). That is all for now. Any pointers and tips are highly encouraged. Thank you.

  7. Hi guys, I just installed El Capitan on my Dell Precision m6800, but: - with no args at the boot the display is black; - with nvda_drv=1 the display is black; - with nv_disable=1 the display works, but with strange glitches since the login screen and when I play a video file. I think that it's a GPU issue. I have the Nvidia Quadro K3100m. Do you think I can solve this problem with some driver fixes? I followed this super guide by Jake Lo: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/7851-dell-precision-m6800-mobile-workstation-wip/?p=64970 ...but my Smbios is not the same (I couldn't find the exact model of Jake's screenshot). Indeed, Jake in his guide says Do you think that maybe I can solve this problem with some changes in the smbios or is too late? thanks in advance for your help guys! taz
  8. Hi guys, this is my first try to install Sierra on my Dell Precision m6800, but I can't find a solution to this problem (see the attached screenshot). It appears some minutes after choosing the disk. I tried with both of my two SSD drives, correctly formatted. I don't know how to do to fix this... Can you help me please? Thank you!!!

  10. Hi all Dell T7500 successfully running Sierra with one problem I have no fans! Darwin dumper (SMC) shows 0 fans present in the system and HWMonitor also shows no fans. This machine was intended to be used as a render machine so obviously this is a huge issue. I am assuming I will need DSDT patches to add the fans? Using my windows partition and RW-Everything I have found the address of the fans (0x1B10-0x1B17) Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this? Many thanks
  11. Dell Latitude E5530 vPro, i5 Ivy Bridge, 8 Gb RAM, 128 Gb SSD, Intel HD4000 - El Capitan 10.11.3. I need help to enable HDMI video output from my laptop to ACER 24" external monitor. I have previously had A17 BIOS, but I followed Jake Lo's advice to downgrade BIOS in order to get rid of boot glitch. I followed the steps from A3 to A12, and now I am running A12 BIOS. I really need external monitor because I am visually impaired. Here is my EFI folder in zip format: EFI.zip
  12. I know - I know, Yup, why am I chasing this? Because I love Mountain Lion, that's why. ( I've said it before - and I'll say it again - If I wanted my HackBook to 'feel' like it was running some kind of a retarded cousin of iOS, I'd go out and buy an iPad… ) Mountain Lion - The very lucky last 'of the Big-Cats', that can only just claim to resemble the last remnants Steve's influence and of OS X's TRUE origins - ( All before OS X 'went off the rails', with an unrelenting overbearing insistence of barging into your own personal existence - with its 'E.T. Phone-Home' iCloud domination - along with OS X's continuance of 'whittling down' all the really cool Open Source goodies that made it initially as grand as it once was… ) So that's why I wanna stay 'all Old Man grumpy'n'arrogant' - and whack this lil' DELL e7440 firmly on Mountain Lion. OK - So here's the spec's ; DELL Latitude e7440 - Intel i5 4310U Processor - 8GB RAM - 128GB SSD - Intel HD4400 Graphics - 1920x1080 Display What do I need from somebody? 1x 'Custom Bootpack' for this specific system, so I can quick-create a myHack v3.3.1 OS X v10.8 USB-Installer Any 'takers' - Milk Shakers? ( Is this even possible? ) Anxiously awaiting the necessary solution, from this awesome Community's already demonstrated brilliance - Thanks in advance, The Random01 (c;=
  13. Hello guys, I try to install El Capitan (yes I know Sierra's been released already) on my Dell XPS M1210. The machine rocks: - a Core2duo T5500 - 1GB of RAM (yet to be upgraded to 4GB) - Intel 945GM graphics (good ol' Intel GMA) - a 120GB SSD I tried this guide, because I figured the D630 and the M1210 are somewhat similar under the hood(?): https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/8645-dell-latitude-d630-with-core2duo-and-nvidia-quadro-nvs-135m-el-capitansierra/ This way it hangs at "[begin PCI configuration]" (or didn't I just wait long enough?) I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Rick Please excuse me for any mistakes in my English. I am Dutch, English is not my native language.
  14. EDP support/compatibility request Hardware Overview: Intel HD3000 Integrated Graphics AMD FirePro M6100 (has HDMI, DP, VGA outputs) i7 2620M (Sandy Bridge) Alps Touchpad Broadcom Wireless N (pci ven: 14E4, dev: 4727) Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN (don't think this is supported by OSX) Intel 82579LM Gigabit Ethernet IDT HD Audio Codec Firewire Of course I can provide whatever details are required and I am more than glad to learn and help. I'd like to use UEFI and Clover if possible. I would like to install OSX to a MiniCard SSD to keep things neat and tidy. Former MB Pro owner, so I have some experience in OSX terminal. I am a software developer (.Net, C/C++) if these skills help. I am also willing to create a guide and USB drive ISO for this laptop if we are successful. I am ok with either the discrete card or cpu graphics if one or the other is easier to implement. I can supply the M6100 graphics card ROM image if useful. I'd like to use Sierra if possible, but not necessary. Will donate whether we succeed or not, this site is a great resource. Thanks!
  15. Hello there, Second time trying to build a hackintosh since I tried once around 3 years ago?! Not sure, but it was Acer Aspire 7542g or something, can't remember accurately. I remember it worked back then quite good as in the successful birth has happend, so I've got a spare Dell laptop now. I'm currently long user of an MBA and I'd like to try to get something out of that Dell laptop. By following the resources given here: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/8506-dell-latitude-inspiron-precision-el-capitan-clover-guide/by Jake (thanks dude!), I've managed to create USB Clover-based bootable device with latest version of OS X El Capitan downloaded from the AppStore. Configuration: Inspiron 3542 4th Gen Dual Core Celeron 2957U 1.4GHz 4GB RAM DDR3 500GB HDD Intel HD Graphics (Haswell) Problem: When I boot into clover, and select to boot my disk (Install OS X El Capitan), the black screen with Apple logo appears and then restarts. Just tried: Boot with safemode on (Resets) Boot with single user mode (Resets) Boot with verbose output (Show a lot of pluses like +++++..; and the resets, no error shown prior) Combined above boot flags (Resets) Use different USB ports A few more details. Since I saw similar hardware on thread located here: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/9377-inspiron-3542-el-captain-installation/; i used bootpack E7440 also suggested by Jake with necessary updates written there. My USB root looks like this: And this is my HACK folder (tools + necessary EFI and such).

  17. Hi, After quite a bit of work I have managed to install El Capitan on my Dell Precision T1700 workstation. Pretty much everything is working, including audio and USB3 and I think that I have a well patched DSDT / SSDT etc. However, no matter what I try, I can't get resume from sleep to work. I have disabled hibernate (by setting hibernatemode to 0 with pmset and setting hibernatefile to /dev/null). The computer seems to go in to sleep correctly (monitors, disks and fans shut down), pressing a keyboard key wakes the computer, but it just resets and starts again from scratch. At the moment I have set power management to never go in to sleep (from the preferences pane). However, it would be really useful to get sleep to work as it is a pretty noisy machine. The comp. has a Xeon / Haswell E3-1200 v3 processor, with an Nvidia NVS 310 graphics card. I have attached my current clover config.plist, the origin and patched APCPI folder (from EFI/CLOVER) as well as the boot log (grabbed from DPCIManager) and some DPCIManager screenshots. Any suggestions of where to go from here would be greatly appreciated, as I am pretty stumped! Thanks Dell_1700_config.zip
  18. Hello, I have installed OSX El Capitan on a Dell Optiplex 780. I can't make the GT 610 to work with Clove Bootloader. Can you help me? On Yosemite I have Chameleon and video card work great with nvda_drv=1. Any sugestion? Is need to use Chameleon to make it work on El Capita,
  19. Hello I've decided to try my hand at installing OS X on my E6420 for the 2nd time. I just installed El Capitan 10.11.5 using Jake Lo's guide. Everything appears to be fully functional except for one thing, my laptop monitor will always turn off during boot. The system is running fine in the background but my monitor just turns off for whatever reason. Unplugging and repluging the charger is my current work around. This works when have access to a wall outlet, but otherwise I am stuck with the monitor off. I am using the e6420 bootpack with the DSDT-LowRes.aml as my display's resolution is 1366x768. Also I do not have optimus on my laptop.
  20. First big thx. to osxlatitude! I have now a new Machine, and I am quite far with the installation. I have installed the Mac OS 10.11.6 so far and I still need some input from you guys: >>Hardware<< CPU: Intel Core i5-4200M Chipset: Intel HM87 Express Chipset / PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C4B RAM: 8 GB DDR3 1600 MHz Graphics: HD Graphics 4600 ( Intel Haswell-MB GT2 ) / PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0416 Ethernet: RealTek Semiconductor RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit / works OOB Audio: Realtek ALC3661 ( VoodooHDA doenst work -> kernel panic ) WiFi: Atheros/Qualcomm AR9565 Wireless Network Adapter / needs patch Bluetooth: Works OOB >>Audio<< Jake Lo is right, the Audio is also regarding the realtekALC-100-script: ALC668 >>What is working<< Graphics: QE/CI works with FakeID-Injection (+kext files) / still the image in the upper left corner looks a bit fuzzy Ethernet: OOB WiFi: kext Injection / pci168c,36 Bluetooth: OOB >>Graphics<< (normal window with fuzzy text in the bar) (fullscreen window and the text in the bar shows correctly) >>Attachment<< I have uploaded the DSDT ( original & patched ) together with the config.plist and the HWINFO64 extraction of the machine. 21. I've managed to install El Capitan on my Latitude E5440. The only thing I've gotten to work so far is the ethernet. I tried looking at tutorials to get the Intel HD 4400 graphics to work but nothing was successful, only thing I did was make it display the name of my graphics in the about this mac window. And I've also tried pretty much every tutorial on this site for the E5440 and still nothing is working. Please help me.
  22. Hello. Just like this my Wifi stopped working. It worked before... Now I can't enable it anymore.
  23. So I installed Mac OS X Yosemite and El Capitan on separate drives, and both have glitchy audio. I installed the newest AppleHDA.kext to see it would fix it, but i still get the same issues. It did work perfectly one time, but after that its been horrible. I also tried VoodooHDA to see if that would fix it, it actually made it worse. Any suggestions?
  24. Hi everyone this is my first post here. Thanks to this excellent guide: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/8506-dell-latitude-inspiron-el-capitan-clover-guide/ (and a little bit of my own intuition). I was able to install OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan on my Dell Latitude E7240 but im having a couple of issues. Audio or sound is not working whatsoever. When I go to the input and output sound settings they both say no devices (even when I plug in headphones. Facetime wont work. It opens and the webcam works, but when I sign in I get a message saying "You cannot sign into FaceTime on this Mac at this time." iMessage is not working either. I just realized but I believe it was working fine when I first installed OS X (Its not so important as I dont have an iPhone anyways) I as going to say sleep when I shut the lid, but now it looks like its fine. I am sure there is a way to repair these because people online have posted having a perfect system with the E7240 but I just can't seem to get these to work. Please help if you have any ideas, it is very similar to a Dell E7440. Thanks in advance
